Marvel: Ultimate Alliance was probably one of my first exposures to comic book based media. That game is one I haven't played in many years, but it always brings back memories of childhood. I remember all of it in odd detail (of course, it helps that I can look it up and see videos online for it). The Mandarin and his palace, Atlantis (where I saw Namor for the first time), Doctor Strange and his beautiful Sanctum Sanctorum, Attilan, Asgard, Murderworld (that place really made me uncomfortable as a kid), the Helicarrier, Mephisto's Realm, etc. This game was super cool to me as a child. Me and my dad played it together, and I loved learning about all the characters.
The best fun fact I have is that I pretty much always imagine marvel and their characters sounding the way they did in that game. That game gave me my voices for Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, Medusa, Iceman, Black Widow, Black Panther, The Vision, Namor and a whole host of other characters. I wish Namor and The Vision were playable characters in that game. If Namor was added, then I could've used the original defenders (doctor strange, namor, the hulk and the silver surfer). Gods, that's still the best superhero team ever. Marvel has so many cool characters, though. I would kill for a remastered edition of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, with bonus playable characters. Hell, I'd even accept DC making a rip-off of this game with just as many playable characters. That game is still the ideal superhero video game to me. The Lego DC and Marvel games are pretty good too though, to be fair.
