Thankyou, Nam Yejun.
I apply my lip balm regularly now and my lips aren't chapped anymore.
You should start doing it, too!
~
Chapped Lips
You've probably experienced it atleast once.
Your lips became dry, cracked, scaly, until it peels and hurts! (Ouchhh....I can feel the pain as I'm writing this.)
It may not look dangerous at a glance, but it can lead to more serious conditions if not treated.
(Jinjja? Jinjjaya!!)
What causes this?
Dehydration. You're not drinking enough.
Dry weather. Both cold and hot weather can be dry.
Illness.
Licking and picking your lips. This is a bad habit.
(Let me kiss you instead...)
Why?
Do you know?
The lips don't have oil glands. So, they're thinner and more sensitive than the skin on other parts of our body.
They become dry more easily. They need more care.
(Sensitive people also need more care.)
What should I do?
Drink water.
How many times have you been told to do this?
Driiiiink waterrr!!!!!!!
Don't drink only when you're thirsty.
The amount of water needed for each individual varies, but the commonly recommended amount of water to consume is 8 glasses per day (2 liters).
Moisturize.
Hey, psst. Wanna try using lip balm? This one really works, too...if you use it everyday after you wake up, after you eat your meals, before bed...Which one appeals you? Petroleum jelly, shea butter, beeswax?
Don't lick or pick your lips.
What makes you like doing this?
Are you looking for a momentary stimulus? Try tapping your finger on the table or slapping your finger.
Are you looking for moisture? Try drinking water.
Use a humidifier.
This device is also good to treat other conditions like asthma, too.
Avoid irritants.
Irritants include metals and harsh cosmetics. You don't always know what's in those things and what they could do to you.
I hope you stay healthy. Thankyou for reading this!
(More notes in comment section.)
Do you use lip balm?
I do!
I don't!
I'm going to use it!
