   Keep thinking about wind-up minions in FFXIV.... I want to be able to hold them. Let us pick up the minions, please. Hold them in our character’s arms... I don’t care that we need a whole extra action to put them down?? GIVE ME.

   ...But on another note, I love the adorable idea of, like... The wind-ups especially being quite smart. They’re like simplified versions of their true selves, leading into the most adorable reactions from them to the WoL, should their real self have a relationship with them.

   For example, Wind-up G’raha is a nuisance for Rhela’s attention. To the point that the true G’raha isn’t just embarrassed, but often peeved at how clingy his wind-up can be. Was he really so-?! Was he really like this??? Little thing always wants to be held or as close as possible to Rhela. Would tug on their shoe (or anything dangling that he can reach) to get their attention again.

   He soaks up attention and then proceeds to hiss when G’raha tries to get kisses or cuddles. It’s hilarious, but... It’s often why he’s only allowed to be out and play when his other self isn’t around; otherwise, the kittens are usually out in rotation. (The coeurl kitten is Rhela’s personal baby, but she equally loves the black kitten... Precious babies.)

   Wind-up Mystel, on the other hand, can barely stand the attention. Any of Rhela’s smiles has him fidgeting, flustered. However, he is the one G’raha minion who can be out around his true self; Mystel never wants to pick a fight. If anything, he just wants to be held while affection is being given.

   A part of him recognizes that things are different, but good different. However, it’s...odd to watch himself be happy and loved by his hero, his inspiration... So he’s processing it. The two have a respect for each other, basically.

   ANYWAYS, Wind-up to Wind-up HCs under the cut. Because yes, I thought about Rhela getting her own Wind-up series... :3c

   Adventurer -> G’raha: It’s like puppy love with these two. Ear wiggles and tail swishing that shows a more shy nature than aggressive. Will sit next to each other, but Adventurer is shyer than G’raha... By a lot! So if any affection is given, it’s by G’raha to them.

   Snowcat -> G’raha: Clings to him. It worries G’raha a bit, but he hugs back and cuddles the other poppet. They always sit close together and might hold hands, sometimes. Snowcat doesn’t want to let him go and G’raha can’t refuse that at all.

   Rhela -> G’raha: For once, it’s Rhela who flusters G’raha so much!! Wind-up Rhela delights in seemingly teasing the younger Raha, who’s tail swishes- flustered- and scratches at his head quite a bit. They might hold hands sometimes.

   Adventurer -> Mystel: Is confused by him. Mystel quietly adores Adventurer, but also struggles to show it. It’s a lot of nervous Addy, with Mystel pining, staring at their back... At them in general. Might sometimes engage in a cute “staff wave” that Addy will join in on. It brings him...so much happiness.

   Snowcat -> Mystel: Snowy is also confused by Mystel. Looks like G’raha? But not like G’raha...? But once they figure out Mystel is the same as G’raha...the same clingy behavior rears its head. Mystel is still enamored, although can show it a little more easily to an already-clingy poppet. He noticeably perks up and is happier with Snowcat sitting close.

   Rhela -> Mystel: These two know each other well, and it brings out his rarely seen playful side. The two often chase each other or will do little spells to show off/communicate to each other. Nobody knows what, specifically, this accomplishes. Whatever it is, though, it makes them incredibly happy!

Bonus: Wind-up WoL set in reaction to the real G’raha.

   Adventurer: Was shy upon first being given to G’raha...but warms up to him quickly. G’raha ended up loving the little minion a ton, the little one perfectly reminding him of Rhela when they first met; ready to take on dangers, yet scared to get too hurt. Wanting to be the savior and support everyone, yet also surviving all the while so they can protect those vey people. Because this is a tiny wind-up, though... It brings out his protective instincts more; Addy rarely gets hurt when they’re out and about.

   Addy really likes modern Rhela, actually. The real version is a reminder that they can be brave...and it’s just very sweet.

   Snowcat: The one Raha only brings out if he needs extra love and Rhela isn’t home. The wind-up’s clinginess brings up his own desire to coddle and be overly affectionate, which they soak up greatly from the person they miss the most. The most spoiled version of Snowy out there, this one fusses when G’raha isn’t doing much...and yet, isn’t holding them. He’s cried before from how cute the temper tantrums are.

   Snowcat is the spoiled brat of the group...but thankfully, not as bad as Wind-up G’raha; they just need attention at the same time Rhela gets theirs. They only get terrible when the attention “isn’t enough,” in their eyes.

   Rhela: The mature one of the group, that feels weird to have...but G’raha couldn’t do a thing to say “no” to having the first one made. (Because everyone knows what a pining fool he was from day one.) Wind-up Rhela is a constant reassurance in his life, quiet but always supportive and with a bright smile of confidence. It’s especially adorable, as he often carries WU Rhela like a plushie; arm(s) wrapped around them with their little arms peeking over the top of his forearm(s).

   Wind-up also gets along quite well with their real self! If anything, the two work in tandem. It’s not uncommon for the poppet and real self to nap together, as well; jokes have sprouted among friends and Scions alike, that the wind-up is actually just an odd looking kit. (Much to G’raha’s red face and Rhela’s amused laughter.)

“i feel it fuckin’ everywhere,” casper grumbles, a shiver running down his spine as he speaks. “in my finger tips, between my toes, in my asscrack.. snow is a disgusting phenomenon and i swear to god the second i graduate i’m going somewhere warm. just packing up all my shit and moving.” he finishes his train of thought with a final drag from his cigarette, his gaze far off even beyond this current conversation. the reality is, cas hasn’t been completely present since the beginning of the fall semester. he tosses the the cigarette on the concrete and scuffs it out with his boot. it only takes a few moments for him to realize he’s disassociated. it’s easier to catch when he’s sober. “wanna go study or something?” he asks almost sheepishly.
