anyway I’ve spent all day reading through clangen lore, and while she’s not a clangen oc (I’ve had her for 4 years I adore her) I wanna infodump about her
Brownfern, born in Frostclan, her mother was Silverstar. Brownkit adored her mom, despite not knowing her dad very well.
Brownkit had a normal kithood, while she was far less enthusiastic about things than other kits, she did have a crush on the older Mudkit. She cheered loudly at Mudkit’s apprentice ceremony. But she was sad he was gone. Brownkit spent lots of her kithood in the medicine den, helping around. So Brownkit started teaching Redkit, a moon younger, about herbs to pass her last moon in the nursery. The two became close and swore they’d be medicine cats together.
Brownkit was woken by a nightmare to a fox attack, and she ran out of the nursery, stumbling onto Graystream, the deputy, taking Silverstar’s lives in the chaos. Brownkit ran until the attack was over. No one but her knew what Graystream had done, chalking the tragic loss to a fox.
Brownkit shakily had her medicine apprentice ceremony a few days later, swearing to her mothers spirit that Graystream, now Graystar, would not prosper. Brownpaw tried to talk and hang out with Mudpaw, but he was always busy, especially with the newest warrior apprentice, Redpaw. Brownpaw stopped talking to them.
Brownpaw spent the rest of her apprenticeship festering in the rage she felt from everything.
Brownpaw watch Mudpaw become Mudtail, hoping for a chance to get closer, she used harmful berries in his prey to put him in the medicine den, and they actually did start talking more (Though Mudtail was still talking a lot to Redpaw..) And Brownpaw’s course of life changed from miserable to murderer. Brownpaw knew medicine cats couldn’t have mates, but she hoped she’d have a semblance of a chance. Brownpaw got her medicine cat name of Brownfern, and the starclan cats gave her odd prophecies of death and herbs. She brushed it off.
Brownfern and Mudtail were actually making progress. Then Redleaf joined Mudtail in the warriors den. And then only 3 moons later, they announced they were mates, and 2 moons later they announced their kits were being born. Then 2 moons later they had a litter of five, Fernkit (Named after Brownfern since the two still viewed her as a close friend), Waspkit, Adderkit, Meadowkit, and Galekit. Brownfern hated helping deliver the kits, but she started envisioning brown fur in place of Adderkit’s red patches. Brownfern decided that kit would be hers.
Brownfern visited the family, as an auntie, she hated it. The kits were bothersome, but Adderkit was lovable since Brownfern saw her as her own. Mudtail and Redleaf questioned the affinity but didn’t bring it up. Brownfern convinced Adderkit that it’d be a great idea to be a medicine cat. And so that’s what Adderpaw chose.
The two were very close, Adderpaw even accidentally calling Brownfern mom quite a few times until Brownferm approved of it, and it started happening on and off. Brownfern actually genuinely loves Adderpaw, Adderpaw is the only cat that Brownfern wouldn’t physically hurt to get her way.
And that’s the point Brownfern is at. Revenge is back into her mind, with her basically kit around.
