Today is National Be Nice to Bugs Day!

You see, I just found out about this day today, so I decided to make a quick illustration featuring Cupant and Mugbug informing us to be nice to insects and appreciate them for their role in our ecosystems.

This is the title art for my new Cupant story, Camping Chaos.

Premise: Mugbug has been having nightmares about an anteater trying to gobble him up, so his brother took him camping out in the meadow to help him face his fears. Everything was going quite well... until they encounter the Moonshine Mob.

Let’s just say that in this story, Cupant tries to help him with his fears in a camping trip that’s gone wrong.

This is a sneak peek of Chapter Four for my Cupant story, Camping Chaos. It involves the Ant Trio disguised as a tall caterpillar in a trench coat while trying to deliver a pastry to two certain frog brothers. Apparently, I have to make the background transparent because I’m going to put this image in the chapter.

Cupant and Mugbug are in a secret bug bar somewhere in Bugtown, hoping to search for some fun around without getting into too much trouble. Suddenly, Mugbug notices a familiar bug, Hilda Berg, at the bar, looking very drunk. Feeling concerned, Mugbug walks up to her.

Mugbug: Hey, Hilda. Are you feeling alright or are you—?

Hilda Berg: (in a slurred voice) Hey, bartender! Bloody Mary, 0 positive.

Just as she said that, the bartender gave Hilda a huge drop of blood in front of her. The mosquito immediately drank the blood with her nose, to Mugbug’s disgust, and became bloated with blood and collapses into the floor. Mugbug went silent when he witnessed this and decided to walk away.

Mugbug: I’m just gonna walk away now.

I got inspired to do this Halloween treat from watching Night of the Zoopocalypse and the Amphibia episode, Children of the Spore. This is also inspired from the Cordyceps mushroom, commonly known as the Zombie Ant Fungus. So, enjoy these two zombified ants for spooky season. 🧟‍♂️🐜🍄
