So just finished up the second season of Dandadan. If squint real hard, it's shonen X-Files. It's a fun show for sure, not my absolute fave, but I would recommend it if someone's looking for a cool shonen. Many people say it's feminist, though I don't think that's true. It points out more of the cruelty of the patriarchy, which is important to listen to as well. It doesn't look at women's issues from women's perspective, BUT it does highlight the toxic messaging to boys and how bad it is. It shows the damage done to women. And what happens to boys who embrace femininity, even a little, and the dangers they face from other men (Okarun taking on Turbo Granny's power immediately becomes a target of the aliens like Momo was). Overall, it's a refreshing shonen with characters that actually act like teens, is funny and combines youkai and aliens. Also I adore Turbo Granny, she's so grumpy I love it.
