Ok, so I’ve been trying to practice digital painting again recently (cough, cough, today) so I also did some of that!
Here’s this guy! I feel like it’s easier to paint fatter characters, but I lowkey just may be in a fat ppl mood rn. (This is the drawing that made my brother ask why he’s fat btw 😭) It didn’t end up very good tho. Got any tips for improving my painting?
I also have another one I’m gonna paint for a book I’m writing. I’ve posted art for it be4 it’s the stone automaton I mentioned. I wanna give them an upside down chalice or goblet as a wand bc woooo cool symbolism and all that jazz but DAMN was that a hard to interpret. Bc I wanted the want to still have a point since it’s pretty important to the magic system and, specifically, how the MC casts magic since they’re kinda magic disabled (can’t see runes in the air everyone else can). I dunno if this is making sense oh yeah I need to post the WIP
It’s mostly just a shadow map rn I really hope it doesn’t end up chopped cheese like the last one bc the concept is rlly cool. It’s like those drawings of knights with their swords but they’re the farthest thing from a knight, and it’s a chalice wand but I feel symbolically it’s a very similar concept as well.
Do you guys think the character translates as a kid bc I feel I might be having trouble with making them look older than they canonically should look. Also I feel they look too masculine when they should be more androgynous. I’m contemplating giving them longer hair but I lowkey made long her associated with a loss of autonomy in the story bc I was crashing out over being forced to make my hair (and, y’know, losing my autonomy bc I need to start being a real woman or wtv)(Pangender btw 💀)
