Their names are Nulla and Drome/Andromeda. I decided to give them and their world a very different vibe than usual. It’s a dystopian hyper-capitalist world (kinda not that different from irl, but it’s different in a few more ci-fi kind of ways)
Nulla, the one with a bunch of arms, was made in a lab (creative, I know 😌). She was part of a business that would create mutants, and then sell them off to rich people for basically anything. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly the guy who bought her used her for, but I imagine he might’ve been the owner of the business, or someone close to the owner. Then when she was around 17-21 there was a breech. A lot of the mutants escaped into the streets. It’s been a few years now, so the mutants, though they do very well hiding since the business is trying to recapture them. Because of that the attitude towards mutants is “We basically know they exist, but we won’t publicly acknowledge them.”
Andromeda’s life takes place mostly in the streets. This world is a mega-capitalist dystopia, so a bit over half of the population is homeless, while most of the rest live in rental homes and apartments. Especially since Drome is black, and the sole breadwinner for her family was her mom (a woman), they didn’t have much going for them and they lived on the streets. In such a hyper-capitalistic state, all other types of prejudice are pushed to the max since they’re all connected irl too. Bc of that they had to do whatever they could to get by, legal or not. How her life went warped how she views and treats people, so she can be pretty uncaring.
That leads to their relationship. Both of them have a problem with obsession for each other, tho it’s a lot more obvious for Nulla. Nulla is an anxious person who felt she would never get to be herself around anyone, so meeting Drome, who couldn’t care less how many arms she has, is intoxicating. She will do literally whatever Drome asks of her. Anything. She’s her no. 1 defender, and let’s Drome do whatever she wants to the point that it’s unhealthy.
Drome is obsessed a lot more subtly. At first it might even seem like she doesn’t care about Nulla, but that’s more because Drome never had any good role models for love. (Neither of them did but Drome is Nulla’s first love and gf) She’s obsessed in a bit of a controlling way. Where she goes, Nulla goes. When she tells Nulla to do something, she has to do it. She’s never been in control of her life before, she she gets high off of being completely in control of Nulla’s.
The thing about Nulla is she sorta… eats people. Drome mainly hunts for her, bc she doesn’t like killing. It’s during a meal that they two of them are discovered by an organization that protects mutants. They join the group, and since both of them are capable, they hunt down the people in the mutant trafficking ring. It’s during their time working with the organization that they start to change a lot as people.

I’m back, baby, and making a shit-ton of art! At first I wanted to make Nulla more masc, but the more I think about her in a skirt the more I wonder if she should wear them more. They clothes she wears have to be baggy and loose enough to accommodate hiding all her arms under her clothes (she orients them like shown in the second picture while hiding), but if you think about it, a skirt is more practical from both a combat and stealth standpoint. I feel she’ brobably wear really long skirts tho. Might have to revamp her style.
The both of them have two motifs that are associated with them. The both of them have star motifs (both have star scars, Drome has star eyes, ect). Nulla has a thing with spiders since she has 8 limbs ans I find her very spider-like. Drome’s motif is a heart, or more like a bleeding heart but not in the usual sense.
I realized recently I have a bit of a fascination with obsession (not the movie but I gotta watch it soon). It’s so interesting to me, being so infatuated, or maybe even disgusted with something that you think about it chronically. I never even realized but Obsession is a main part of some of my other OCs (Chris & Don, Marcus, Natalie, Fucician, Ayaan, Ghost Boy, ect probably)
