It is incredibly bizarre to realize that she knows more participants of the show than she doesn’t. When she had signed in, Mercedes hadn’t expected to recognize anyone, yet now she knows she is wrong. Viola, Benedick, Ferdinand… Those three weren’t even that much of a surprise. Who truly took her out of left field is Lysander. Outis had met Lysander briefly during one of the BYOH requests, and from what she remembered the personality of the Lysander then seemed incompatible with the personality of the Lysander now. That, and well there was the change in appearance. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it was enough to leave her a little wrong footed throughout. Enough to want to poke and prod until she found the answer behind those differences.
She had to be subtle, though, considering that they were constantly monitored by the cameras and she didn’t want to let their connection to BYOH slip.
“Lysander, hi!” She calls out when she sees Lysander after breakfast. “It’s good to see you, how was your date yesterday?”
