       it’d been two years since noctis had entered the crystal and there are days that go by where prompto feels guilty for continuing his life while his friend can’t. he feels guilty for settling down, creating a somewhat normal life with ignis. things were hard at first, there wasn’t a day that passed where prompto didn’t think of noctis. and though his heart is heavy on occasion at the thought of his best friend, he feels it’s selfish to admit that he doesn’t think about him often. maybe because it hurts too much to talk about, neither him or iggy bring it up. prompto imagines that maybe ignis talks to gladio about him, maybe it’s less hard on him.

       prompto’s twenty two now, and it still feels weird to celebrate a birthday without his best friend beside him. he’d gone so many years being forced to celebrate because of noctis, because he’d wanted to make him feel normal. this year hurts more than last when he blows out the candles, but maybe that’s something that will get easier with time, too. and though they don’t talk about it, prompto’s sure ignis must know how much he’s hurting, because prompto feels ignis’ hurt too. though, he’s grateful for noctis. for all of his sacrifices, for keeping ignis safe when prompto swore he was going to watch the love of his life die in the most heroic way he’d ever seen.

       that’s something else they don’t talk about. there’s no need to be stuck in the past, and ignis had bounced back to a full recovery despite some scars that still lingered by his eyes. when he walks through the front door of their apartment and doesn’t spot his boyfriend, there’s a little panic that courses through him. just like always, he finds him eventually. prompto rests in the doorway of the bathroom, tilting his head to the side as he watches ignis adjusting his hair in the mirror. ❛ wow, ❜ prompto grins, arms crossing over his chest, ❛ got a hot date ? ❜

of course he’d find him here at the clock tower.     it’s far from dusk,  though,  with the midnight moon creeping over them.     the lanky redhead slides onto the ledge beside his best friend,  still clad in the familiar leather of their organization days,  his eyes once again accented by the thick lines of black that they had been back then.     & to top it all off,  he’s had those diamond teardrop shapes put back beneath his eyes again.     they’re a little puffy & red around the edges,  but he couldn’t just hide them beneath bandages,  not when he’d been so excited to show them to his best friend!

... but something is ... off.     of course it would be,  he’s an idiot for thinking that things would be just  back  to  normal  after all of that.     roxas seems distant,  lost in his own little world of thoughts,  & for a moment the redhead almost doesn’t want to distract him from it.

“  ... hey,  roxas.     you in there,  kiddo?     it’s midnight,  we ought to be heading back to radiant garden soon.     gotta get a place to sleep & all that,  don’t we?  ”

@multinaes bc kaito deserves the world 😌

     sora’s been planning this for about a month now . he’s always adamant about people’s birthdays being important , but this year , more than ever , he’s set on the idea that kaito’s birthday could quite possibly be the most important day of the year . 

     this , of course , he will not say to kaito because he will be the first to say it’s not important & sora will be so quick to deny that , which he’s not up for today . an argument as to why his boyfriends birthday is unimportant is not the ideal way to spend the day , after all ! 

     the plan is quite simple . he’s not trying to overwhelm the other boy , & he kind of just wants a special moment for the two of them to share , so he’s got no elaborate & huge party set up for him . ( he’s not even sure how much he would enjoy such an ordeal , anyway . ) sora’s intent is to start with a breakfast in bed & let kaito take the remote so they can watch movies all morning . then once they get out of bed , a walk to the local pet shop . not to adopt anything but because they have their dogs out to pet and play with , & he’s pretty positive kaito will like that . so will he but it’s not about him .

     lunch will be a picnic on the play island . he’s enlisted the help of riku & kairi , who will be setting up the lunch date while sora & kaito live their best lives with a bunch of cute puppies . he’s only planned up until lunch just in case kaito has other plans , but if he doesn’t then sora’s completely ready to come up with ideas on a whim . that’s his thing .

     breakfast had a rocky start . he was going to make pancakes with fresh fruit and it was going to be so cute and delicious . the only thing it resulted in , however , was sora covered in flour and fruit scattered on the floor . a quick trip to kairi’s & he was heading home with pancakes made by her instead , because according to his friend , him in the kitchen is “a nightmare” and “she wouldn’t wish it on her worst enemy”. hmph . it’s whatever he supposes , as he puts it on a tray and brings it up to his room with a few flowers in the middle of the tray to give it a nicer vibe . a quick text to kaito that it’s safe to come in , & now he waits .

HEADCANON 85.    geralt practically walks around barefoot.   all the time.   whilst in forests or anywhere grassy the funky tall herbalist will not wear any shoes,   only falling to sandles or closed in shoes if he ends up going into a town with a lot of people.   when traveling with jaskier or yennefer,   depending where they all are headed they may forgo shoes still.    being a sorcerer first and foremost,    he has a    deep   connection to nature and animals and thus keeping    grounded    of sorts makes him feel the most connected with the grass underfoot.

HEADCANON 86.    geralt in his herbalist verse still has chronic pain in his hip and elbow which can cause problems when trying to hold spells that require his full attention and a stable stance in one place for a long period.   he takes herbal remedies for it whenever it gets truly bad but does take time to sit and massage the areas that hurt.   the cause of the mess came about due to a very unruly bear who attacked the herbalist off guard when it itself had been injured   ---------   which made it angry.   it took magic to heal it but being able to walk and move about left pain behind.  

HEADCANON 87.    if geralt likes you,   the animals around the spot of the cottage will tolerate passer’s by and guests.   wolves will hover,   birds will sing but still stick to their distance.

Had Gladio not been paying attention he’d likely have passed the girl by completely thinking she was just someone in the crowd and continued on his way. There was a blink, recognition and then... a pause as he grinned at the blonde, standing radiant as ever in the sunlight. It looked like she’d finally found that change she was looking for. Or at least started upon it by cutting her hair. Sometimes, that was the first step in the way of finding a new you. Or maybe Gladio was looking too deep into it. Either way, he couldn’t help but, look at her as if she carried all the stars in the sky in her soul right now.

“Lady Lunafreya.” He spoke softly and with the respect of titles though he didn’t dare embarrass her with such things as a bow or a kiss to the hand when it looked like she was trying to escape her purpose at the moment. “I like the new look. It suits you. It’s real cute.”
