Bill did this for years. Even when his wife and child left him unexpectedly one day. Years go by, and not once did it occur to Bill for his own son to become one as an adult.

When the snap happened, Matt feels like he shouldn't be here, but as ashes like his friends. Instead he's still here and in constant pain, as his body is constantly telling him he should be dead. His atoms want to split and turn into dust. But he is still alive.
Confused and in pain. Only now, six months on does he realise his feet burn when he's on holy ground.
Or: Matthew Murdock was supposed to be snapped, miraculously survived, and learns some unwanted things about himself.

Peter just wants to know when the spell feels like it's officially done its job.
Or: the spell goes into overdrive. When Peter leaves a room with someone in it or vice versa. They no longer remember he was in the room. Or worst case scenario, they have no clue who he is.

What if the spell also worked on Peter himself. Making even Peter Parker forget who he is. Leaving only Spider-Man behind.

Bruce Wayne is given tickets for Haly's Circus on another day. He is not there to witness the fall of the flying Graysons.
