And now back to the Bornean primary forests with a bunch of land planarian images belonging to the Diversibipalium genus. These ones were found in Mulu National Park a few days ago, after big rains. This is my last image I decided to upload for the “Borneo cave life” series. Deep into the eternal darkness of some caves, where rivers pass and leave a large amount of humidity and pools, there are crabs of the Genus Cerberusa which wouldn’t deface when compared to Gollum from Lords of the Rings. They evolved to have long thin legs, diaphanous whitish coloration and, contrary to Gollum, no big eyes, but just empty sockets where they once were. Down into the darkness of Borneo’s caves there a multitude of species. Where you could think there are only total black and oblivion, life thrives thanks to those species with a double life.
