Today is my nephews 4th birthday! We had a little party and Madeline and him had fun just at my mom and dads apartment.
i’m feeling much better! i had two clogged ducts one on my left and one on my right. they both seem completely gone now. i went to see a doctor because i felt the lumps still but with no symptoms and things i read said to see a physician just in case so i did. it was probably the stupidest thing i ever did. she was just like yeah that’s normal it’s going to happen and probably keep happening. and i’m like okay...and then she was like do you pump? i said yes should i pump more than just the every 2 hours and after she feeds? and she literally goes “i don’t know”. what. it was dumb. she gave me a prescription but said don’t use it if my symptoms are subsiding. it was awkward.
my supply had took a significant drop but it is coming back up because penelope had fed about every hour and a half consistently the past couple days but now she’s back to about 3-4 hours. it sucks though cause in the middle of the night my boobs get engorged so quickly i feel 😭😭😭 and that helps to cause clogged ducts 😭 i hope to not get anymore i hated the fever it was fucking horrible. 🤢😣
alsoooo i bought like 6 nursing camis from Target and another nursing bra! these things are fucking amazing. that’s how you know you’re a mom when you get super excited about mommy things lol. but they’re super cute!!! i need new shorts next and i gotta try on pants i have here to see what does and doesn’t fit. a moment i dread 😣 I will be 6 weeks PP on the 16th!
okayyyy bye. ✨
Me: I should just scoot the baby over into the crib, it's open to the bed, and I'm still right here.
Also me: SNUGGLE THE BABY FOREVER.
Today, Eleanor crawled from the couch on to the end table, which she occasionally does. When she turned to sit down, she was over the edge and fell off. On the one hand, natural consequences. On the other hand, she hit her face on the way down and split her lip on the inside (i think, never did get a really good look). Rushing over to pick up your crying baby is sad enough, but seeing blood running out of her mouth is terrifying. She didn't cry as much as I thought she would, and sucked on a cold washcloth for awhile. Then at nap time, she fell asleep and woke up after like 30-45 minutes later with a mouth full of blood, and it had run out of her mouth onto her arm. Scary and sad again. Since then I think things are okay, I didn't look again for fear I would mess something up. Poor girl.
I think the taste of expressed breast milk is the reason why she refuses the bottle? I noticed my breastmilk has a metallic iron smell to it, and she would pull a face when I tried to give expressed milk using a little rubber spoon. So that's another question to ask the doctor the next time I see her, as well as - one cheek has been red and rosy for the past few day - how to avoid throw up now that she can roll over and wants to do it all the time (puts pressure on her wee tummy) - her opinion on amber teething necklace - should I be concerned that her farts smell so terrible (maybe I should try cutting out dairy and see if that helps hmm)
Murphy's Law
The morning everyone sleeps in until 7:30 (and counting), I woke up at 5:30 and couldn't go back to sleep.
