(Multimuse meme | Accepting, but might get hoarded for a while!)
I have not had much opportunity to roleplay Skitter in scifi settings and it would be delightful to do so! Also, my goodness the parallels. Depersonalization, history of lost-and-regained autonomy, the constant calculations when you ARE dangerous and are SEEN as dangerous (even if you don’t necessarily enjoy being dangerous) and that makes life very unsafe for you, they could commiserate so hard over all the woes of social interaction, the feed offers really interesting potential for Skitter’s communication options…
There’s plenty of fun specific plot potential too, be that cooperative plot or full-blown conflict!
I especially enjoy the notion of them interacting in some kind of abandoned outpost: maybe Murderbot finds Skitter in stasis, or maybe Skitter’s surviving in the place and Murderbot’s there for other reasons and Skitter tries to hunt it, or… maybe something more formal? Depending on your verse perhaps Skitter’s investigating the place and hires Murderbot as security, or else perhaps Skitter’s been hired as a consultant with the Preservation group investigating an abandoned location…?
(That latter’s a bit of a stretch though, I know there aren’t really ACTIVE intelligent aliens in the Murderbot setting. Just scary remnants dslfkhdsg. I imagine it’d take some doing to handwave Skitter being that integrated into the general culture, but if you want to plot about it on Discord or something, let me know!)
The notion of Quark and Clemcy interacting delights me. I think it would be very reasonable for them to wind up crossing business paths! And it would have every possibility to be a disaster ahahaha. Clemcy would not be happy with Quark’s fraudulence. QUARK would not be happy if he got any glimpse below the surface, and also probably not with Clemcy’s telepathy dlfkhsdg. (Or we could have Clemcy stuck with the same can’t-read-Ferengi issue that Betazoids have, to keep things on a more even playing field!)
Basically I feel like their conversations might have the potential to be SO fun to write, hah.
These two might be fun as well, come to think of it! Diamond does a lot of negotiating for resources for the Spire, so I could see them crossing paths… or we could do one of Diamond’s other incarnations and have Diamond’s concerns and priorities be more deeply embedded in the Star Trek verse. I’ll have to ponder!
It looks like you’ve archived Grum so I might have missed my chance, but listen. Listen.
I think there’s some fascinating potential between Grum, Phosa, and Linast.
The conversations they could have about post-mind-alteration identity issues, especially with Linast… And Phosa is so blunt and matter-of-fact about calling out other folk’s cognitive distortions, but at the same time she, too, tends to believe that she doesn’t really deserve friends… and, I don’t know. I don’t know how Grum would feel about interacting with kids but I feel like that might add an interesting dynamic as well; might either raise Grum’s defenses in unusual ways, or perhaps help them to lower them.
Tl;dr I just think they’re neat!!
So one aspect of Ithadel’s character that I haven’t yet gotten to delve too deep into through roleplay is that he was heavily inspired by Discworld witches. The relevance in this case is that his role isn’t always just as a medic; he’s also often responsible for the protection of a community and for investigating anything strange or otherworldly that happens.
Which sounds pretty relevant with Carrion! Except that I don’t have any more specific ideas than that just now, haha.
