faux art deco clock. this is circa 2000s maybe 90s and ALTHOUGH i’m intrigued by the weird face design I was repulsed that it wasn’t true art deco on closer inspection.

This is the Cupola Room at Kensington Palace, and that huge wooden ornament in the middle is actually a musical clock. It was supposed to be a conversation piece as people walked around the room making chit-chat with the great and good. If you didn't have any small-talk then you could wait for it to chime up a song and start discussing that instead.

This large clock depicting Orpheus playing the flute contains a mechanism that plays songs on a built-in organ using interchangeable barrels to produce different tunes.  At Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire, England.
