DEMOS!

Welp we started working on some demos yesterday and today for some new tunes we've been working on.  We're pumped.  We took a break from shows in January show so that we could focus on this -- we've got a lot more work and preparation to do, but it's paying off big time.  (See the above, carefully framed picture in which I capture both my impressive looking Reaper screen and also our adorable dog Dixie).

Sara's been crushing it on drums 24/7, by the way, to step up her game for this new stuff.. have I mentioned she's been playing drums for 1 year?  Goddamn.

We're recording the demos basically the same way we recorded most of The Scratch Tape... i.e. an SM57 on my guitar and this dynamic Sennheiser mic Lee has on Sara's drums.. going into a Scarlett 2i2 interface with Reaper on my PC.  We manage to get pretty decent sounds out of this.  Sara and I do drums and guitar live, then Sara does her vocals, and then Lee lays down some bass.  Then I do some fumbling around in Reaper, which tends to have results only a tad better than if I asked Dixie to roll around on my keyboard while I have Reaper open.

You'll be able to catch some previews on here in the coming weeks/months, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, I'm gonna be doing a lot more journaling and other things on here.  Soooooo, our tumblr's gonna be getting pretty cool basically is what I'm saying :)

Looking Up

A little something we cooked up in The Bone Cave...

The Bone Cave is our practice space/ rehearsal space/ where we spend most of our time dreaming big and looking up.  It's also where we're currently experimenting with recording some of our songs.  We'll post some tracks here but you can check them all out over at Soundcloud.
