in the spirit of Oct 17th (it’s Oct 17th in most places rn I think (possibly in Michigan at least))

I enjoy Ted ships, but not in the way that I think it would be a good ship for either parties (more so the party that has to put up with Ted but I digress), but in the way that I want to study how they interact with each other in any given moment. I want to watch them dance around each other in various silly ways. I want to put them in a hamster cage together and watch them scamper around in the enclosed space.

Extended Thoughts on Ted Spankoffski and Charlotte Sweetly

I’ve seen some fics where people try to imply that Charlotte is the more romantic one in their relationship. But this is just not the case canon wise.

I don’t know if either of them are very romantic in their relationship but if one were to be it would be Ted. Because he seems to be the one who wants more.

He asks her to choose him, to upgrade from her husband, which imply’s some level of romance. Plus he seems to care about her, he says she refuses to happy in a way that implies she wishes she would choose to be.

Charlotte on the other hand only really sees Ted as a sad bang. She calls him when she’s feeling down and her husbands away. Uses him as a vent for her sexual desires, trauma dumps on him and then decides she doesn’t want him to be part of her life anymore (though she doesn’t stick to that).

Now this isn’t me blaming Charlotte for all issues in their relationship or saying that Ted is completely blameless. Ted is an asshole. He’s not kind in expressing his frustrations or desires in their relationship. He’s also admittedly guilty of having a sad bang himself (he says so in Time Bastard). But he also became this persona out of his desire to be loved, so it’s got to hurt that the woman he’s “with” doesn’t want to be with him.
