“Anywhere can be paradise as long as you have the will to live,” is a surprisingly hopeful quote from an incredibly depressing place at the end of the film The End Of Evangelion. It has inspired me to keep living, and keep trying to live, through a manner of situations...
This perfectly encapsulates why I get so defensive about all the 'Krakoa is bad', 'they are all being mind controlled', 'the X-Men are villains now' and 'what about the HUMANS!?' garbage.
And the contrast with Dennis Hogan from X-Men prime is gutting, but also nicely illustrates just how revolutionary the shift has been from that endless, and utterly frustrating 'model minority' mode of X-Men storytelling to what we're getting now. Love live Krakoa.
