Just when the party could start, someone crashes into the party and takes a hostage. It's Mutina (Leticia Leech), the anti-mutant mutant influencer! Mutina has taken the woman hostage and demands that she wants to join the X-Men. Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner) attempts to reason with Mutina and caution her against spilling blood in a place that is a sanctuary for mutants. Mutina is unmoved by this appeal, stating that she hates mutants even though she is a mutant herself. Why does Leticia hate mutants so much? No one knows her motive, her backstory or whether Mutina is really a scared person who is just putting on the act of a hardened killer to mask the pain that she carries inside herself. While Mutina presents herself as a bloodthirsty sadist, maybe what she really wants is for a community to take her in and accept her and whatever she leaves behind in her mysterious backstory.
After Mutina says she wants a “test” to prove herself worthy of joining the X-Men, Nightcrawler and Mutina duel with blades atop an old barn. After she falls through the rotten wood of the roof, Nightcrawler teleports to catch Mutina before she falls to the ground. The issue ends with Kurt telling Mutina that she will never be an X-Man, but that there is “a path” for her, meaning that he believes there is still hope for her yet. Mutina mentions that she would have killed the Louisiana X-Men if given the opportunity. Nightcrawler doesn’t believe so, and Mutina says they may never know. Thus, Mutina leaves him alone with his thoughts as she exits the barn.

I love their outfits. Nice that they all have slightly different designs
Uncanny X-Men (2024) #27
Issue 26 of Uncanny X-Men was the best so far of this volume IMO!

There is not one 'Messed up one'. There is the X-Men and you are a team, Letitica. We covered this is in orientation
i KNOW that Glob, Idie, and Quentin all went out to watch Mutina in their local small Alaska cinema, and i KNOW that they busted their asses laughing and cheering "YES GET THE HUMAN!!! JUSTIFIED!! ICON!!!!!"
