Today would have been the 77th birthday of one of my favorite artists, the late, great Warren Zevon. He's one of those artists whose work immediately makes me think "oh yeah, they get it..." (Kurt Vonnegut and Charles Schulz would be among the others)

"Mutineer" is probably one of my favorite love songs. This performance (from when Zevon was dying of mesothelioma) is probably one of the most emotionally moving late night talk show musical performances.

“Durkiss” - Pencil on paper

    This was a character that I created for a now defunct science fiction video game. He was literally a mute mutineer, working covertly against his own commander over a long period of time. While we were never able to fully develop this game, basically this character allowed a rogue path for the avatar/protagonist to embark upon, creating a branching story line where you could fight for aliens instead of humans.
