La date fait référence à l’exécution, le 3 juin 1886, de 31 jeunes gens, principalement des pages du roi Mwanga furieux qu’ils se refusent à lui depuis qu’ils ont été convertis par des missionnaires. Ce jour-là, ont été sacrifiés sur un bûcher 13 catholiques, 13 protestants et 5 non chrétiens.

Jadis un roi homosexuel exécutant les chrétiens convertis, aujourd'hui un pays où les homosexuels sont toujours menacés de mort, l'Ouganda n'en a pas fini avec les tyrans.
