-It was quiet. The air in my lungs got caught in my throat with my stomach starting to churn my own food up to escape through my mouth at some point. Unfortunately, it was held shut where not even a quiver from my lips could be formed.
Their eyes were fixated on me as I meet the foreman's gaze, unsure if it's out of the predatorial hunger that the infection had afflicted their brain for over a century. I can't even tell if their unwavering smile was from inexplicable ecstasy from finally being satiated after months of refusing to consume another human, or maybe finding amusement in my face slowly contorting into sheer horror, walking in to them feeding when they explicitly warned me earlier not to enter this room without permission. The air was so still between me and Mx. Red, that both of us could have been mistaken for statues, left to rot in this desolate room of the manor.
My veins ran cold while watching the man in their grasp have his forcefully invaded by the roots just under all that sickly pale skin, beads of his blood running down in increments. He can't even utter a sound, much less a word; I swear his throat is fighting to make even a feeble whimper, but that may be just my brain tricking me into thinking that to try and rationalize his unfortunate predicament.
The strings glowed red as it creeped through out his weakening body, extending out into the room in different directions where it held his hands up high. He was almost nothing but a marionette in Mx. Red's hands.
My feet moved on its own while my mind still has the image freshly burned into my psyche, leaving quietly with only the click of the lock echoing in my ears.
