I love how MXTX canon couples are all freak4freak in different flavors.
Wangxian: both are relatively normal on the outside, you could probably pick out who is the freakiest but then you have the misfortune of sleeping next to their room at the inn and jfc you were wrong. You were so wrong. You're not entirely sure some of those things were actually possible. Their bedroom activities are a +18 "Yes, and". You wonder how they can keep this up every single day and not run out of ideas.
HuaLian is actually the opposite. Within two minutes of conversation you can tell there's something wrong in these two's heads, they give off movie psychopath auras for different reasons. Yet their intimate life is so romantic and soft it kinda makes you sick. They do indulge in some kink stuff but it's all under the umbrella of mushy romance and somehow the fact that these two weirdos are so relatively normal in bed makes it feel wronger. Doesn't help that what they deem "romantic" would have normal people filing for therapy and a restraining order.
BingQiu are the freaks who you'd expect to be freaky in bed but they are so. much. worse. Some of the things they're doing have you questioning whether you should call the police or a priest. You're left wondering whether all that you heard could even be called sex by ethical, moral, and biological standards. I'm talking Binghe fighting an extra-dimensional tentacle monster and SY getting caught by it on purpose but lying to himself to pretend it was an accident and Binghe taking just a little too long to help because he's shamelessly enjoying the view and when they finally defeat the thing they'll be conspicuously dragging its unconscious body back home and that's the point where you're like "nope. NOPE. I'm out."
MoShang are clearly freaks from the outside because, for starters, by their species' standards they're both monsterfuckers. But they're also the type of freaks who would casually go out in like, a collar and a leather harness and blatantly ignore anyone who asks or comments about it and just keep doing the accounting or sth. They're just as freaky in the sheets as they are in the streets but it's their nonchalance about it that makes it weird for everybody else.
