Prompt 17: Miracle

(Happy birthday PB&J.) 💛💚💙

The Miracle gave them these gifts. He shouldn't be upset. He should be grateful. It's just hard to appreciate a miracle when one is viewed as the opposite from a gift. Especially with how the community views one. Julieta could heal with food. She was loved. Pepa controlled weather with her emotions. She was loved. He could see the future. He was despised. 

The Miracle gave them gifts, but they had their downsides. Julieta overworked. He'd seen her stay up so late at night and early in the morning preparing food for everyone. Pepa was constantly on the brink handling her emotions. He'd seen her try to self calm with her "clear skies" mantra to various degrees of success. There was frustration and weariness in both their eyes. It hurt to see.  

However, he thanked The Miracle they didn't have it like him. As much as it pained him, he'd take his gift any day so his sisters didn't experience it. So nobody in his family experienced it. The migraines, exhaustion, uncertainty, angry townspeople, gossip, insults, stern commands from Mama to do his part for the family and community. Yet the worst was...feeling like a failure. He didn't feel like his gift helped the family. Why would The Miracle grant him this? It felt like the end of the treacherous road. Nowhere else to turn in life, but stay at that end and wait. Was he waiting for another miracle? Another gift of some sort? He could only hope, wish and pray something would help The Madrigals if he couldn't with his gift. No. It seemed too late.

Unless another Miracle answered his prayers.

Oops…my hand slipped😉

I was inspired by @archersqueen answer to an anon ask earlier today. Had to use the stickers to cover up the goodies or else…cause Dumblr😑 Hopefully it’s not flagged. I’ve haven’t drawn in a REALLY long time, so I’m really rusty (as you can see), so please be gentle with the criticisms 😅. 

I’ll continue to practice and hopefully I’ll improve! I’ll definitely will come back to  make this piece better someday!
