I don’t know how to explain it, but something inside of me has always had the urge to make others feel something. Something positive, though. When I see other people smile or laugh a bit, or even gaze in such a manner that suggests that they’re content, it makes me want to work for something. I like to consider it my purpose, but I may be a tad naive in saying that. Or maybe not. My whole life I have loved the feeling - the assurance - when I knew that another person was happy: especially if they were happy because of something I did. It makes me want to keep moving forward as a person to reach out to more and more people. If I can brighten a moment or a second of someone’s day, it’s worth it for me. It may sound cheesy or fictional, but it’s apart of who I am and what I stand for. That’s probably why I want to be either an animator or a therapist. To be able to reach out to children through animation and storytelling beguiles me. The concept of it all gives me hope that I can imprint something onto kids that are developing their own persons; that I can teach at least one kid to say one phrase: good morning, have a nice day, please, thank you, how are you, would you mind if I?. The list could go on forever. Or if I could teach a child a lesson about the inner workings of relationships, trust, love, etc.! Therapy is a different story, though. I could potentially save actual lives with my words. It terrifies me yet draws me. Whatever I choose to pursue in life, I hope it is to serve for kindness.
