in another, more beautiful world, supergirl vol 5 (pre-gates) would’ve had kara meet and bond with nat—who also, at one time, felt overwhelmed with being part of the hero life (especially with john henry’s public identity) and struggled with wanting to be normal before finally coming into her own as steel when she needed to… and they would’ve terrorized john henry and clark together… and tinkered with kryptonian tech together… they could’ve been everything !!

every day i think about bonded aurora and phantom. like, at this point, they're comfortable around the others, the whole band is their pack, etc etc, but at the start? they were inseparable. phantom used to get nervous around other quintessence ghouls because he was so different from them, and felt inferior. aurora used to worry about accidentally breaking some sort of unspoken rule and weirding other air ghouls out, because they all seemed to follow some sort of social code she was never let in on.

so, at first, aurora and phantom were always together. they held each other when they slept, they walked around with their hands held tightly together as if afraid someone would try to pull them apart. they spoke in hushed whispers during every meal, regularly wore each others' clothes as if it was completely natural.

even as they got more comfortable with the other ghouls, their bond stayed just a little closer with each other. they can communicate with each other with just subtle looks and gestures, if one of them vouches for another ghoul/papa/sibling the other instantly trusts them too.
