tbh chase needs a Myōbu/Byakko friend, they're holy fox spirits that bring happiness and blessings
Oh that would be the perfect friend/guardian for him! 💕
Like, imagine that Chase's week starts out really shitty (another argument w/ Stacy on the phone, video upload complications, or he's just feeling sad and lonely in general take your pick) so he's just crying and drinking excessively one night before he passes out.
Then when he wakes up the next morning, he realizes he doesn't have a hangover and that his room is perfectly clean (he knows none of the egos were in there because he would've heard them moving stuff around). And instead of whiskey he's got a hot cup of tea on his nightstand.
As the week passes, Chase notices a lot of things are going right for him, and his depression and urge to drink aren't as heavy.
He was even able to see his kids on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, so as happy as he is... he can't help but be suspicious, too.
Eventually, he discovers a celestial white fox in his room leaving him another box of tea.
Of course he thinks Marvin summoned them so he goes and asks him but....the magician is confused.
He never summoned anything; the fox spirit, which he identified as a Myobu/Byakko, must have appeared on their own terms when they sensed Chase's sadness.
So until he felt true happiness and was content with his life, they were going to stay with him and give him more blessings.
Today's yokai is the Myobu. This is a celestial white fox, often seen around many of the Inari shrines throughout Japan. Many hold scrolls, gems, or keys, and are often adorned with red bibs or cloaks, and are thought of as bestowing good luck and blessings. Common offerings include holy sake, red rice and beans, and fried tofu, all believed to be the favorite foods of these inari. #yokai #yokaijune #inari #myobu #celestialfox #japanesemythology #japaneselegend
Final’s week is stressful so I drew my first DnD character.
