Event Story

The school’s most precious magic gems have been stolen! The culprit is one of the “Arts and Craft Fairies” that was helping to prepare the Spring festival; the “Fairy Gala”. The fairies were due to decorate a sponsor-provided Queen’s tiara with those magic gems. In order to recover them, Leona, Kalim, Jamil, Ruggie, you and Grim will take part in the Fairy Gala’s main event; the fashion show. (I want this in an anime)

In addition, the ratio of the following pick-up target cards will be higher than other cards of the same rarity in the "Fairy Gala Limited Time Summon".

Just finished watching The King’s Avatar drama, and I wanted to translate this song for fun. ^.^ I’m not a native Mandarin speaker and not 100% confident in my translation, so feel free to correct anything. (Included Pinyin with tones in case that’s helpful for anyone, but tones are not necessary when singing).

T/N: 1. Struggled with this part a lot. I think it’s saying something along the lines of “we decided to cross paths again, (but) returning is more turbulent than leaving” but I’m not sure.   2. 沉没 (chénmò, sinking) sounds like 沉默 (chénmò) meaning ‘silent’. So when listening to the song it can also sound like ‘silent like the middle of a dark and gloomy storm’  3. 风雨 (fēngyǔ) literally means wind and rain, but it is also a metaphor for trials and hardships. So maybe it’s alluding to Ye Xiu persevering through the ‘storm’ with his umbrella?  4. Star (xīng) and Happy (xīngxīn) sound very similar. Another possible interpretation could be “standing at the peak of happiness”  5. 见(jìan) to see something, to meet with something. This line gives me the impression that he has not only seen legends before, but actively experienced them himself.  6. 半刻钟 literally half of a quarter of an hour, but here I believe it just means a short period of time 7. 泥泞 nínìng- literally means mud but it can also be a metaphor for obstacle. It sounds very similar to 逆境 nìjìng (adversity) at the beginning of the song. So I think this line means “I’ve always believed in surmounting obstacles.”  8. 孤勇 - One person silently bearing the burden of something alone.

1 “bei” gave me some troubles, tbh. It’s difficult to find an accurate translation for it, since, depending on the phrase/object, there’s different equivalents in English. The idea is the same as “at dawn”, “in the dead of the night” etc.

2 “festsaugen” means “to attach”, while “saugen” means “to suck”. You could go with either translation in English, since you often read in books/fics that someone “sucks at someone else’s lips”. But “to attach” would be the more accurate translation.

3 “graben” usually means “to dig”. Since Till compares love to an animal, however, I thought it fitting to use “to burrow” here, since it’s connected specifically to animals digging something (usually a hole).

4 “mit Haut und Haar” is a German idiom that I couldn’t find a good English equivalent to. It usually means “completely”, or, for example, “to be head over heels for someone”. Translated word by word, it means “with skin and hair” (so the idea is that your whole being is affected).

I contemplated whether I should translate “amour” or not lol I mean everyone knows what it means. But I felt that the translation would be more complete this way. I did (and will in future translations) put other languages Till uses (or English) in italics to showcase as much, and I will (try my best to) translate these phrases into English as well.
