“Goddamn it!” Will exclaimed his frustration as the man he hit into took the brunt of both himself and the unit. The unit stopped with a small jerk which made everything inside rattle. But Will was unable to do anything immediately about that as the momentum took him and the man to the floor.

“Ooof.” The air was knocked out of Will as he landed on top of the alpha, who was wearing an expression somewhere between annoyed and confused. “Thanks.” Will forced out, begrudgingly.

“You’re welcome.” The reply was a soft croon as the alpha’s features softened - it made Will clench his jaw. He really didn’t like suave alphas, too damn full of themselves. All thinking they are some sort of hero, and this one was likely no exception - especially considering the situation.

Will stopped himself from blurting that he wasn’t some kind of omega in distress and was usually quite capable of not throwing himself onto unsuspecting alphas, but even in his head he knew the words were wrong. The last thing he needed was to let this guy think he was hungry for an alpha - that old stereotype. All career until you meet the right one.

“Ugh.” Will made the sound of distaste at his own thoughts before he even realised it, earning a quirked brow from the alpha he still lay bodily on top of.

“Well, as pleasant as this has been, I can’t spend the day down here.” There was a gentle smile that took the edge of bite from word. Even so Will screwed up his face into a look of disgust and clambered off of the alpha.

Will went immediately to the unit, first checking the readouts and then opening it to make sure nothing inside was damaged and letting out a sigh of relief to find all was well. Another suited man was stood next to it, looking over it with interest before being pulled out of his study by Prurnell’s voice.

“Gentleman,” her tone was stern and it took Will a moment to realise she wasn’t addressing him but the two alphas in suits. Both in suits rather than lab coats. “I thought you would be gone by now.”

“We’re going.” The alpha next to him responded gruffly before they both went out through the door Will had just come through.

Will frowned and shook his head, completely at a loss as to what had just happened.

“Will, come down. The Count is at the palace.”

Will’s ears perked up and he turned on the branch so he could look down at his ever capable aide, Bev Katz, who had tracked him in the woods. Not that she looked very amused by it.

He heard her mutter under her breath - “Don’t you think I have better things to do than reeling in your sorry ass.”

“What was that?” Will asked with a teasing grin but received only a frown from his fellow alpha. She was a few years older than his fifteen years - a good relatable age, his parents had hoped. He’d already driven two older aides into early retirement. He liked that she didn’t take his nonsense, but that didn’t stop him giving it.

Will was still grinning as he swung down from the tree, dropping gracefully in front of Bev.

He spent a lot of time in the palace woods, had done since he was a child, and Bev was the only one so far who had managed to successfully track him.

“Robert’s come to say goodbye?” Will asked as they started to walk, the taller alpha plucking twigs out of his unruly curls as they made for the palace.

“No, his nephew.” She said plainly.

Robert Lecter was a good friend of his father, the King, and an important noble at court. He was an envoy to the east and had even taken a bride in the country he had settled. Will always enjoyed his visits, because his father would make the time for them all to go fishing. Which, usually was fun. This time, not so much, as Robert had brought along his nephew - Hannibal, also a Count in his own right now that he was of age. He was several years older than Will, and the omega was a bore. He did not like to fish or do much outdoors at all. He preferred books and music and other gentlemanly pursuits - as he had once told Will - clearly a jibe.

Will stopped in his tracks at Bev’s words.

“Ugh. No, I’m going back to the woods.” He started to turn and Bev grabbed hold of him and turned him forward to the palace again.

“Nope. I’m on orders from the King. No escape this time little prince.” She kept an arm linked in his as they walked, allowing him no way out without resorting to fisticufs. “You can go back to running wild like a pixie once he leaves.”

“Pixie!” Will gave an indignant grunt and Katz’s grin at the reaction didn’t go unnoticed.

Hannibal looked up as the bell above the door rang, the scent hitting him at the same moment he set eyes on his prospective customer.

There was eye contact for a brief moment, in which Hannibal gave a little nod of welcome, before the other man averted his eyes and hesitated before continuing into the shop. Curious. The man carried himself with confidence and yet seemed shy of, or perhaps put off by, the slight attention.

Hannibal went back to the arrangement he was preparing at the station next to the counter, letting the man browse quietly, but taking him in nonetheless. Taking in that interesting, and enticing scent. It was not often one met a male omega, at least one that didn’t try to hide the fact with suppressants and scent blockers.

He’d had a few female omegan lovers in the past, though just as many - if not more - beta, male and female. The scent of either to his adept alpha nose, was not unpleasant. But this was something more unusual. Rich and earthy whilst being delicate, and fresh as a babbling stream. Something unique in the notes it left at the back of his throat. For the first time in his life he had to wonder at the idea of true mates, because nothing had before pulled within him so tightly on little more than a scent and a moment of eye contact.

Even as he smiled at his own ridiculousness, Hannibal kept a furtive watch on the customer until he picked one of the medium sized, pre-wrapped bouquets. He was studying thoughtfully, and with any other customer Hannibal would have gone over and offered assistance. But he found himself hanging back, taking pleasure in watching the man, wanting to see what he would do next with no interference.

The man was perhaps a little shorter than himself, curly wayward hair, and piercing eyes that swam between blue and green. In the past Hannibal had been with very high class men and women, the kind he met in the social circles afforded to his wealth. All very prim and proper with a mutual appreciation of a finely turned out suit. So, it was a little surprising, he found, to be so very drawn to a man wearing worn corduroy pants and a flannel shirt and sporting at least a day’s growth of stubble.

“Is something wrong?” The man’s soft growl and annoyed expression alerted Hannibal to the fact that not only had he been looking the man up and down, but he had been caught in the act of it.

“Not at all, I was wondering if you require any assistance?” He replied in his cool tone, which earned him a frown of suspicion.

“Just these, thanks.” The man brought the bouquet over and laid it on the counter his eyes cast down at them. Hannibal smiled, pleased to see he had chosen one of his special, stylised designs. Hannibal spent a lot of time on them, they were a tad more expensive than the run of the mill arrangements, but worth it as far he was concerned. Each was unique and themed - a design based around an idea executed by the colours and meanings and scents of the flowers chosen.

The pride Hannibal took in these arrangements, together with the unexpected pleasure he felt at the young man’s purchase, had him replying - “each of these arrangements have a set meaning that-”

“Yes, I know. I read the sign.” The man cut him off, still looking down, though his expression - even at such an angle - was clearly exasperated.

Unsure what he could possibly say that might not be met with a curt response, Hannibal gave a nod and rung up the flowers.

A little follow up to Trope: Celeb AU (Spacedogs AU)

When Gabi phoned him, her voice was high and aggressive. Nigel had visited to run lines with her for a sequel they were starring in and something was wrong.

When Adam arrived at Gabi’s he discovered Charlie from Continuity was also there, and Nigel had him practically pinned to a wall. Nigel could be gruff and intimidating, but it wasn't like him to threaten people. Adam couldn't even begin to imagine what had happened.

"Ask him!" Charlie said pointing to Adam as soon as Gabi let him in.

"Ask what?" Adam replied, confused.

"Has this shit been flirting with you?"

Adam could only assume Nigel meant Charlie. "Why would he do that?"

"Because he wants to fuck you!"

Adam frowned - he had worked with Charlie several times but he had never been inappropriate. "I'm confused."

"Nigel thinks that I'm trying to seduce you."

Adam blinked. "But Charlie knows I only like alphas, and that I'm in love with you… Is this a game? A practical joke?" His frown grew deeper. Nigel knew he hated that kind of thing.

"No, gorgeous." Nigel seemed to realise Adam's upset. He strode over and pulled Adam to his chest. "No, I'd never play tricks on you."

"Then... Don't you trust me? You think that I'd be seduced?"

"I trust you darling, of course." Nigel held him closer.

"Then why are you mad at Charlie? Even if he was trying to seduce me, he wouldn’t succeed."

Nigel let out an anguished sound. "I've fucked this all up."

"I still don't understand."

Nigel pulled back and looked at him a moment before dropping down onto one knee. "I... wanted to ask … For weeks now, but I know I'm not good enough for you. Haven't always treated you as you deserved. It's the fucking love Adam, it drives me somewhat insane. I didn’t want anyone to come between us..." Perhaps realising how ridiculous he was, Nigel ran out of words.

Adam frowned down at him. "Nigel, are you proposing?"

"Yeah, gorgeous, I am."

"Good! I anticipate you being less jealous when we’re married. Because you're an idiot when you're jealous."

Gabi laughed as Nigel stood and scooped him up into a kiss.

“I’ll always be an idiot over you darling.”
