okay but can we just talk about how light underestimating near is the perfect downfall for him. one thing that we know about light is that he is over confident and because of this he tends to over look things that lets be honest... he probably shouldn't. when near tells light his plan of how he switched the notebooks this happens.

everything stops, turns red and one last time we are subject to lights plotting and thought process as he basically explains to us what he did and how he created the fake one and how he had used it.

at this point he thinks that he has one and even goes onto say that L would've considered that there was a fake notebook confirming that light had thought that through, but he didn't think that near would.

he didn't think that near would be as good as L and that threw him off so badly. Light could've won, hell he would've one if he had just made a plan to account for that or if Mikami didn't write Takada's name in the note book. the thing is that light should've won but didn't due to being over confident and underestimating his opponents. which feels fitting seeing how he commonly compares himself to a god and such
