FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I really hope Michael doesn't get redeemed at all. The only way I'd see it happening (from art I've seen, I forgot my who) is after he even makes an attempt at redemption he dies from being scooped or something.
Why do I want him to stay a bad person?
• I find the idea interesting and really like when people explore it. A Michael Afton that, even makes an attempt, continues his father's legacy instead of destroying it. A Michael Afton who truly idolized William and wanted to be like him so badly he'd do whatever it took. Anything along those lines. From what we know of the games, Michael (I think) is morally gray. However Movie Michael, they can actually explore something different that people don't usually do with Michael. An actual killer, a like father like son thing.
• I also don't really know how they'd go about redeeming him. Yes, there are worse characters, but it would be difficult to redeem him. Not everyone needs to be a good person, especially in fnaf, and I hope Movie Michael won't be able get redeemed or get seen in a good light, unless (like I said before) he dies in some way.
• I want to see how (movie) Michael and William actually interact with each other, and some of Michael's past, on why he is the way he is. Sure they could maybe share his story through a redemption arc, but it feels almost wrong? To me anyways. I want to see if William treats Michael like the worst person to ever exist, and if he does, why Michael continues to try go above and beyond for him. In fact, I'd actually like to see Michael manage to do something that impresses William, or actually continues on the legacy William made.
• "Ennard is possessing Michael though" I don't mean this in a rude way, but we all have our opinions on this matter, I really don't think so. I don't really have anything to say on why, but going back to him not getting redeemed, it feels like old gacha where glitchtrap was blamed for doing everything and William was innocent (I know fine well because I was/am in the gacha fnaf community). If Ennard was in Michael and eventually left, I'd want Michael to get more disturbing because he either
A. Acts more uncanny than he already does, not trying as hard to blend in as Ennard anymore.
B. He does act more like a human, but there is something still unsettling about him. He's trying to not stand out, yet, and gain the trust of others before doing what he has to.
Michael becoming good simply because Ennard left him feels really predictable to be honest. Again, to me anyways.
• The parallels. Specifically, the parallels I mean between (movie) Vanessa and Michael [excluding Mike Schmidt here, also game Elizabeth] . It reminds me of (game) Vanny and Vanessa to an extent. Here, Vanessa still wants to protect and Michael goes to obey. They're both victims of William that cope with it in different ways and I feel like that's made clear.
- Vanessa copes through trying to escape it. Run away from her past and try to distract herself. From what we've seen, and if my memory serves me correctly, she isn't always honest. Even though she's trying to escape it all, she holds it all close to her, making it hard for her to let go of the trauma and what's been inflicted on her. She only really speaks up when she thinks someone is or someone is actually in danger. Taking a stance for herself seems rare, yet she was able to do it with Michael near the end.
- Michael copes through embracing everything, to an extent. Accepting it all is easier than running away. Whatever purpose William claimed he might have, he keeps that with him, because if he has purpose then he could actually be good enough for William and his standards. He doesn't seem to run away from the truth, again from what we've seen. Even with the paranormal investigators, sure it wasn't a lot, but he was still honest with them. Because he doesn't run away from it, like Vanessa, and runs closer to it, he doesn't need to tightly hold onto as much as she does. If anything, to me, it feels/looks like he's more free than Vanessa. He is still trapped, probably haunted, by Williams actions, but he doesn't seem to let them hold him down as much as we've seen with Vanessa. He doesn't speak up when something dangerous is happening, he just watches it play out, usually, and doesn't interfere. Not with the paranormal investigators, and almost near the end. It makes sense he ran from the Marionette possessing Lisa (?) in the beginning, don't get me wrong, but whether they had an alliance or something, we don't know. Because the toys don't seem to target Michael later on, and they would if Charlie hated him that much. We see him run because what he planned to do had back fired, Vanessa didn't come 'home' and the Toys were being broken. It looks like fear, but I like to imagine it's because he knew there was no point in trying to even salvage a win. So running would make it more of a tie/stale-mate if Jeremiah wasn't there.
I don't really know if I explained myself clearly, sorry if I haven't.
