(some small context:

• Michael adopted Vanessa before she started working at the pizzaplex

• Michael OWNS the pizzaplex

• He helped her get a bit more freedom while still under Williams grasp)

Small reminder, in this au, Michael is Williams favourite for a reason. He wouldn't hesitate to do something drastic as long as it benefited one, or both, of them in the long run.
