Inktober 25: Another LotRO character voted for in the poll, Naemr, my Dwarf rune-keeper.
Although their parents were Erebor refugees, Naemr and his older sister Nantha considered the Blue Mountains their true home and stayed there even after Erebor was reclaimed and their parents returned. Naemr was a total nerd by Dwarf standards, preferring books and studies and runes and letters to the forge, but anyone who gave him a hard time found out that his big sister knew how to use the weapons she loved to forge. Anyone would've thought that Nantha would be one of the Dwarves to stand up to the Dourhands, but surprisingly, Naemr was the one who first started putting his fire runes to good use and ultimately decided to leave his home and fight for Middle-earth against the forces of Sauron. (With a spare axe from his protective big sister, who continued to do her part making weapons for the Dwarves of Ered Luin.)
Quiet, bookish, and unassuming, Naemr doesn't have a problem with Elves the way most of his kin do and is fact one of very few people Isilivren (my Elf rune-keeper) will deign to speak to as an equal. Despite being an oddball for a Dwarf, he does still appreciate a beautiful piece of delicate craftsmanship, and the legendary rune-stone he found in Moria's cache is full of his own carvings and inlays. Currently he is in Rohan with his new best friend, a palomino war-horse named Ziriz.
