Whitebeard Pirates Headcanons Part 3
Izou attributes his youthful appearance despite being 43 years old to a strict daily care regimen involving a special herbal paste that he wears on his face at night (along with cucumbers over his eyes as he sleeps) along with hair plugs, bathing twice a day, a weekly exfoliator to wash away dead skin, powdering his face, trimming and filing his nails, staying out of the sun as much as possible to ensure that his white skin doesn’t get sunburn or premature wrinkles, avoiding cold water when washing his hands, and always wearing gloves in winter to keep them warm and prevent them from becoming dry and cracked. Any deviation from this regimen causes him massive anxiety that he’ll rapidly age until he turns into a mummified husk.
Thatch has heard legends of the All Blue and often wonders if it really exists. He's been tempted to set sail on his own so he can discover it himself more than once, but he's become so attached to the crew and he doesn't want to abandon them. Sometimes while he’s cooking, he daydreams of all the culinary masterpieces he can create from the fish he catches in that sea.
Namur doesn’t mind having to retrieve devil fruit users on the crew when they fall overboard, but he gets sick of seeing them hanging on the edge of the ship and has to beg them to back up so they don't fall over and drown. He loves to go for long swims whenever the ship is docked, for exercise and a chance to explore, sometimes diving underwater and finding cool treasures to bring up to the surface. He's clumsy and ungainly on land, but when he's in the water he swims with incredible speed and grace. This makes him perfect for making sneak attacks and damaging enemy ships. One of his favorite pastimes is to challenge Jinbe to see who can swim the fastest. Namur wins every single time, much to Jinbe’s frustration.
Atmos likes to take naps on the deck when he’s not busy with commander duties. He'll just lie out on the middle of the deck, snoring as everyone else quietly sneaks past him to avoid waking him up, because they know how cranky Atmos can be when he's prematurely woken up from a nap. But Ace also likes to take naps, and sometimes he'll climb on Atmos' belly and instantly fall asleep using Atmos' long, thick beard as a blanket; it’s one of the cutest things ever, and the others are astonished that Ace can do this without waking Atmos up and provoking his ire.
Jiru is very practical and frugal compared to his crewmates, as a result of growing up in poverty as a child. He is primarily responsible for creating and managing a budget for food, material for ship repairs, medical supplies, clothes, and miscellaneous purchases. He is very strict about adhering to this budget, and when someone goes over that budget to buy expensive luxury items that he doesn’t think they need, he'll get very irate and lecture them on being spendthrifts. Izou is the biggest culprit because of all the cosmetics he buys to maintain his beauty regimen. Some of the crew members call him a cheapskate, but others admit that a budget is necessary in order to afford necessary items, especially food, because not only does Thatch have to feed hundreds of pirates on the Moby Dick, but he also has to account for Ace's bottomless stomach.
Blamenco has a tendency to pull the most random, incidental items out of his pockets; no one is sure why, including him. At one point, he pulled out a rubber ducky instead of his trusty barrel during a battle and would've been on the wrong end of a sword had Vista not intervened in time. Ace and Rakuyo find this hilarious and have taken advantage of it to store prank items and party favors for fun. It's come in handy when Blamenco is planning a prank, entertaining people during a party, or cheering someone up.
Curiel is a huge neat-freak who keeps his room very neat and organized, insists on doing his own laundry so he can fold his clothes neatly before putting them away, frequently dusts his surfaces, always finding a place to store his personal belongings that's easy to find. He gets very annoyed when someone goes into his room and takes his stuff without asking or putting it back where they found it; Rakuyo is by far the worst offender, because he tends to just go into Curiel's room and take something he needs and forget to bring it back. No one but him is allowed to organize his room or move his belongings.
Blenheim is secretly terrified of rodents, and he freezes up whenever he sees a mouse or rat scurrying around on the ship. Ace and Haruta think they're adorable and actually keep a few of them pets, which causes Blenheim immense anxiety and dread for weeks, even suffering a nightmare of mice and rats crawling all over him while he's chained down and unable to escape. While he doesn't express it out loud, he's secretly relieved when Ace and Haruta's pet mice escape from their cage and were never seen again. He does feel a little bad for Ace and Haruta because they were very attached to the little guys and cried for days afterwards.
