Where can I read more about Thomas? I did a quick google search and all I got was genealogy sites
his descendant kathleen kent wrote two fiction books about martha and their daughter sarah and confirms that the story of him possibly executing the king is from family folklore, this tale is also mentioned in history of new london (1882) and in an unpublished history of allen (martha’s maiden name) family, however thomas definitely immigrated to massachusetts in 1665 around this time many parliamentarians moved to the american colonies to escape legal consequences, so it’s certainly not impossible that thomas’s move had something to do with that, however it’s impossible to say if he did it or if it’s a=old family lore
Next day Anatole left… for PEANUT BUTTER
Okay but what if, and really hear me out here, I made sure I was buried with my Zoloft?
“Moving away from the sad events on Orkney, I would like to spend some time considering the inclusion of chalky pills in plastic and foil packaging. By the nature of their material, these items have a good survival rate, which may partly account for their representation in the archaeological record.
Due to financial constraints, little chemical analysis of these pills has been done. In light of the documentary evidence that remains from the period the most likely interpretation is that these pills created an altered state of mind for the user. Mood-altering drugs were commonly used during the 21st century as both a primitive form of medicine and for recreation.
We are lucky to have fragmentary documentary evidence from a scrap of paper accompanying one of these finds which directs the consumer to “take one pill at the same time every day”. The ritual purpose of these artefacts can therefore not be denied. The same document includes a direction not to share the pills, indicating that use of such mood-altering substances were limited to a select group.
A similar scrap of paper was found associated with a container of pills in the excavation of a domestic residence listing a large number of unpleasant physical effects. It may be that users occupied a respected place in society, enduring extreme effects in exchange for the as-yet-unknown benefits of the pills. Whatever this was, inclusion in grave goods suggests a strong faith in the power of these substances.”
What's your favourite song from The Great Comet?
send me "what's your favorite.." asks 💫
Depends on the day tbh. At the moment it’s probably Pierre & Andrey.

“Why are people attacking Emily? Apart from drugging Charlie she did...”
I saw that post about not minding if she died too. It made me so mad. Like, she's a wonderful character and maybe she's not always nice or pleasant, but she's clever and determined and multi-faceted. Honestly Emily Lacey is just great.
Seriously! She is brassy and obnoxious and arrogant sometimes but that is a SHIELD. I love seeing how all these women cope in healthy and not so healthy but always in very human ways and for Emily, her pride in what she does is really the only thing she has - seeing her deal with this last episode was so painful it actually brought tears to my eyes. Once that’s taken from her, she’s very vulnerable and alone. But she’s also clever and witty and determined and brave and bold AS HELL. And quite capable of tenderness under the right circumstances. she feels so real and alive and I LOVE HER
