Blanket meme | Not accepting

Naruko was at the age where she mimicked actions- be it copying Minato’s tired trudge to the kitchen in the morning or Kushina’s brisk pace to get cleaning for the day done. Her twin would occasionally copy, but he was more interested in grabbing things and climbing onto counter tops. 

The one day she refused to nap and her brother was passed out on the floor of their room, Kushina placed him in his bed- which was once his crib. Pulling the blanket up to his elbows, she placed a kiss on his forehead. 

Instead of staying in the twin’s room and risking Naruko making a loud noise to wake her brother (like anything did), she brought her daughter to her room. It wasn’t often she allowed the twins to gain access to the room during the day. It was off limits, especially if Minato had just come home from work and was sleeping. 

Reading a few books for the toddler, did Naruko finally settle down and start to doze off. Prior to her nap, she took the blanket at the foot of the bed and covered her mother with it as best as she could. She reached up and kissed Kushina’s cheek. The action earned a giggle from the elder Uzumaki and wrapped her arm around her smaller frame, pressing a few kisses to Naruko’s forehead. 

“Have a good nap, little ladybug.”

— Kinda lowkey showed up late too. Azures quickly glance over at the bowl before she smile up at her twin.      

❝ can you just… can you just hold this bag right here and, uh. Yep, I’ll just take this and—❞  she walks off with the bowl of ramen in her as if it were a prized jewel. They were in her eyes.  ❝ we should watch a movie or play a video game ‘ttebayo.❞

“ Oi, ye’r not mad at me are ya? ” 

          He was a little confused by her mannerisms. He had been gone for ages; a small where the hell were you would of been nice. Then again he had to realize, he wouldn’t be like that either if Naruko had done the same, because they were Uzumaki’s...they can act like not a day has passed between regardless of how long they don’t see each other. 

                                             “ I was gone for like, yanno... a few months. ”

“What? I like hot things-! Your tou-chan is one of them, so this isn’t anything different, ‘ttebane!” The mother had drank a tad too much after her mission and was a bit off balance when walking. 

Her daughter warned her not to chug the bottle of hot sauce. It wasn’t terribly high on the list of hotness, however only a small dab of it on a meal was deemed acceptable. 

Unscrewing the cap, she put the small bottle to her lips and tilted it up, drinking it all. 

There was no reaction until she burped. “Oh-” She mentally kicked herself and she would hate herself for doing this when she’s sober later on. For now, she stumbled over to the trash bin.
