Out of all the sad anime character backstories, I’m so damn weak for Naruto’s. Like every single time I see him as a child sitting on that swing, all alone, unloved, starving and hated I swear a tear escape my eye.
And yet he remained such a beam of light, always smiling and friendly towards those he meets.
Everyday he had to watch as all the other kids left with their parents, getting washed, fed and taken care of. Meanwhile Naruto was all alone.
I’m so goddamn angry that Kushina and Minato never got to be parents, just like shown in Road To Ninja they would’ve been 10/10 mother and father.
Apart from Itachi and Jiraiya, this scene is one of the most heartbreaking. Imagine knowing you’re going to die, unsure of your child’s future and you can’t do anything but pour out the love for it at the brink of death.
Imagine being parents for less than a day, never gotten the chance to truly be with your little baby before you have to say goodbye. Not sure if your baby will be alright alone…
When Naruto finally reunites with his parents, I swear I cried so much first time reading it in the manga that my eyes were puffy for days.
Despite everything Naruto went through growing up, he still smiled like this:

Idk I haven't watch Boruto but if you ask me Kawaki's character looks suspiciously close to what a biological kid of Naruto and Sasuke would look like.
