Went a weeeeee bit insane when I had to compare Sai to the rest of Konoha 12 in a very long and complicated maneuver because I couldn’t find it in one place. And I Still wanna do more. As you can notice I didn’t try super hard for the info in Boruto sections. This is because I personally am still tryna act like it doesn’t exist. Sorry about those who like it I just have a personal grudge lol.

A female medical ninja was explaining the document that was in her hands. She was about two years younger in age than Sakura.

“――The way I see and understand the data from the distributed document, the number of children who (are being admitted with a chief complaint for) psychosomatic disorders are certainly decreasing”

“Since (the clinic’s) introduction a year and a half ago, (the data) means that it’s efficacy is steadily rising.”

(After Sakura stated that), the medical ninja who was in charge of explaining (the document) then continued: “Yes. It’s satisfactory“ she nodded. Her small face was red with tension and nervousness.

“As the symptoms are prolonged, improvements will not be observed through counseling with conversations. As for those cases, we will be collaborating with the other departments within the hospital. We’ll make sure that prescription medicine and so forth will even be included in support (of their recovery). “

“That won’t be a problem, right?”

Next to Sakura, Ino spoke up.

Sakura nodded. “That’s right”. (And then she continued):

“But as for coordinating with the other departments, please proceed (with our requests) as carefully as possible. Since (the patient’s well-being) won’t be improved with a (just a) few discussions, instead of treatment with medicine, (we should) firstly and carefully listen to the child’s stories. Because that is the original purpose of establishing ‘The Children’s Mental Healthcare Clinic’ here.”

That’s what (Sakura) added (to the discussion).

Sakura Hiden Spoilers

* Sakura and Ino leave a conference room within the Konoha Hospital. They chat a bit about a patient. (I think that the digital edition of the excerpt will include the pages leading up to this?)

*Ino tells Sakura that she is popular among her kouhai (後輩= juniors in terms of seniority), since she works quite diligently as a medical ninja. Besides that, she’s also beautiful.

* About two years ago (at the end of the 4th Great Shinobi World War), Sakura proposed the idea of a facility for 子どもの心のケア= children’s mental care. It seems that Sakura especially made herself in charge of this unit .

* Tsunade thought that it would be a great idea, and that it would be further advanced by Sakura’s leadership.

* Ino volunteered to help.

* The name of the facility is 「子ども心療室」which I think I will translate into something like “Children’s Mental Clinic”. In just half a year, they are already in the prep phase of it. This print excerpt didn’t tell me if it’s like internal medicine, if it addresses behavioral problems , psychiatry, etc. So this will probably get fleshed out in other excerpts. It has to do with mental health, I believe.

* Ino invites Sakura out for a break, but Sakura declines because she wants to get some work done. Ino’s facial expression seems a bit worried.

* Sakura then encounters Naruto and Hinata. They are not in mission clothes because they both happen to be off-duty and on a date.

* I think that the author is referring to the one-shot manga from the Retsu no Sho (The Last’s guidebook). Naruto talks about borrowing’s Sai magazine. They are on their way to Ichiraku Ramen.

* The Naruto and Hinata wedding is coming up soon. They’ve already been acknowledged as a couple for a few months now. Sakura has recieved her invitation to the marriage ceremony.

* Naruto invites Sakura along for ramen, but she declines.

* Sakura reflects on the scene, and thinks about how happy the two of them are together as they go off without her. Naruto says some sort of joke, and Hinata laughs. Sakura seems happy and supportive of them.

* And then there’s the last page that I already translated earlier. I think a few things are going to change now that I’ve read the context of it.

As for those thoughts/feelings that didn’t reach (anyone), they were bound to fall and pile-up at the bottom of her chest; then, (they would) transform into sighs. At such times (when she thought about how those thoughts were being collected), her mind always began to think about her work.

まとめなくてはいけない資料。目を通すべき報告書。

It is absolutely necessary (for me) to compile the documents. I should be looking over the written reports.

いつのまにか仕事モードになっていた自分に気づき、サクラは苦く笑った。

Before she knew it, she noticed that she had been in work-mode. Sakura bitterly smiled.

――こりゃ、いのが心配するわけだ。。。

―― Well, it’s because Ino is concerned (about me)…

* First sentence didn’t specify it’s to Sasuke, per se. So I left it open as “anyone”. This will probably change once I read the rest of the prologue, for the context.

*降り積もって can also be “to lie thickly”. But the meaning is like something that is ‘piling-up”

*決まって= usually or regularly, I’m using “always” for now, until I get more context about the tone OTL.

*資料 could be work, data, materials, tools, etc. I would need the rest of the passage to know what this refers to.

* So if it’s in the narrator POV, まとめなくてはいけない資料。目を通すべき報告書 should be like “There were documents that she must compile. There were written reports that she should be looking over”. But I thought that was too unnatural, so I switched the POV.

持ちかけた= Offered a suggestion or proposed an idea

相談事= Something to discuss or consult about

打ち明けられぬ = to not speak your mind/ open your heart about/ be bold or frank

零す= to spill, grumble, complain. Can also be ‘to let one’s feelings show’. I see it moreso as grumbling/complain though.
