"You can do it, Itadori."

It's easier said that done — it's what Yuuji would like to say but doesn't dare to, self-conscious about the why his voice is probably going to sound if he were to attempt to speak. He's trying to keep his focus from the burning sensation in his lower half, but it's hard. His entire body is feeling the strain now, skin glowing with heat and slick with a shrouding sheen of sweat. The longer he endures it, the harder it gets.

“Come on, brother… I know you can handle more than this," Todo is husking right in his hear, which is almost as unhelpful as the weight of his body pressing down on him, folding him over himself closer and closer to the ground until…

"You can take it," Todo murmurs, encouragingly, the deep rumble of his voice vibrating through Yuuji's back. "Just a few inches more…"

"Alright, that's enough!" Yuuji exclaims, a little choked up, and uncerimoniously shrugs his best friend off of his shoulders, which is no real feat for him. He is feeling the strain in his hips, even though if he didn't manage to complete the split.

"But you were so close, brother," Todo objects, getting back up on his feet and dusting the dirt from the training grounds off his (distractingly) bare arms. "Your pelvis almost touched the ground this time!"

"It's close enough to a full split, thanks! Besides, it was starting to sound like—!" Yuuji stops himself, face glowing red from more than just effort.

"What was starting to sound like what, brother?" Todo asks with a shit eating grin.

Yuuji squints at him in reproach. Oh, that bastard knew exactly what he was doing!

11. if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

omg, writer, and yes, most things i write i'm decently proud of at the end (or i wouldn't post them). but i was just looking back over the fic i cross-posted from my fanfiction.net account. and at one point, i rewrote the lyrics of "black velvet band" to be about the life of the gruff mentor guy from ranger's apprentice, wrapped some fic around it, and posted that as my brother. i have a distinct memory of sitting at the coffee table at my grandma's house working lyrics out on a notepad, ahaha. anyway. some pretty great turns of phrase in those lyrics from tween!hidey that i'm kind of shocked to find still hold up.

(at the time i was simultaneously reading a ton of ranger's apprentice and listening to a bunch of irish folk songs from a cd my parents got from the farmer's market that i was obsessed with.)

well i think i simply must say bucchigiri?! thanks to crab and ki, i don't know what's happening over there but y'all seem to be having a great time, or mayb my condolences. that blue-haired glasses guy ... he intrigues me. though, i did receive a very impassioned description of tgcf from rnack earlier this week that is a close second.

Oh thank god. I said something to this effect on discord recently and got some “ew gross” reactions and was like … what has fandom come to where you kids can’t recognize the inherent hotness potential in this relationship?? I feel old.

Me too. I miss the golden age of mid ‘00s LJ fandom where it was pretty much anything goes and kink memes were actually kink memes.

What's behind the green wall? It looks like there is a gap between the top of the wall and the ceiling. Looks like a comfy apartment!

It is very comfy!

That’s not actually a gap, or rather there are gaps but that’s not one. You can see there are gaps in the “ceiling” where the windows are -- it’s to make for larger windows that let in more light, so the windows go up about 18″ past the level of the ceiling. But the red patch you see in the wall itself is actually just red paint I couldn’t get to -- when I moved in that whole wall was bright glossy red, and there were bits that I, a DIY painter armed only with a ladder I found in the utility closet, couldn’t reach well enough to paint without risking getting paint everywhere. :D What’s behind the green wall is, alas, another person’s apartment.

Oh, that explains why I couldn’t find it when entering “family” into the search box. What a strange choice given the prevalence of “found family” as a common term, and especially given that very few people would think to search “families” to try and find a substitute. I wonder if there was one early fandom on AO3 that made use of the phrase families of choice and it was just canonized first.

It was a small stuffed fox that i would shove into barbie clothes that I named Foxy lmfaooTulip: What would be the best present to get you? hMMMMmmmmMM i don’t generally like getting presents? if that makes sense? like i love giving presents but when someone gets me something i’m just ja;fldja;fsj  I’m weird. I know. My own mother doesn’t understand it.i guess if i had to choose something, i’d prefer stuffed animals or like a fun shirt or a knick knack i can stick somewhere.
