CHAPTER ONE Selena's Point of View "Okay ladies, I'm off" I look at Vanessa and point to the door. "V? You coming?" She looks up at me and shakes her head. "No, I've got so much to do, I think I'll skip my first class and come later" she says lying down on the couch, hiding her face behind her book again. I shrug and pick up my umbrella, walking out into the cold morning. 'Right so I have to book a rehearsal room and go to my first lecture, then I'll meet V and Gina for lunch' I think to myself as I walk to campus. I decide to get a Starbucks coffee on my way and sit in one of the chairs as I wait, going on the university website and booking a rehearsal room for my first assignment. I hear my name called and pick up my coffee, smiling at the barista. As I reach my lecture class I look up from my phone, only too late, and bump right into some guy. Looking up I see that he has bright green eyes and the front of his hair was pushed up in a quiff, he looked annoyed and his plump lips were pressed together like he was clenching his jaw. "Oh, sorry" I say blushing and step out of the way, luckily i'd managed to save my coffee, somewhat. He rolls his eyes at me and huffs, shaking his head he walks right past me. I frown and look back at him. "Well.. Fine then". I turn away and walk into the lecture room, having got there early I sit down and rest my head on the desk, closing my eyes waiting for everything to start, I didn't even realise when I fell asleep. When I open my eyes, the same green eyed dick head is sitting next to me. He looks at me and I quickly look away not wanting to be caught staring. Out of my periphery, I see him smirk and shake his head before looking away. I wonder who he is and what his problem is and as though he read my mind he says "I'm Nathan", he glances at me before looking back to the front. I purse my lips and frown looking at him, then I turn away and say "Selena" * * * Vanessa's Point of View I wait at the tree where we all always have lunch after having texted my brother Tom, about him leaving to see our parents who live overseas. He always feels bad about having stayed back when they moved, and that I stayed with him. Emotional little shit he is, it's cute though, he misses them and so do I. Still, I don't have the time to fly all that way to see them with all the uni work I have to do, their fault for going so far away. I look up as Gina walks over and sits down. "Sel not here yet? She's usually the first one" she says. "Yeah, she must have got caught up in something, she'll be here" I reply and tell her that Tom will be going away, but I won't. In that time, Alexandria and Selena both run up to us . "Okay" Selena says excitedly, "Big news. I met this guy and he seemed awful at first but, turns out he's pretty cool. He invited me, and all of you to a party he's holding at his place, he lives a little far from here, closer to London but, we can drive there and it's on a friday night so.." She shrugs and continues, "A lot of people are going, he seems like a real bad boy, all mysterious and stuff, i really wanna see him drunk" she says chuckling. "Wow, i'm guessing that'll be a big party if he's invited someone he just met and people he doesn't know, randomly all over campus?" says Alexandria. I smile and say "Those are the best kind, I'm in". We all agree to go and then move onto our normal conversations occasionally going back to the party topic and discussing what we'll wear and how it'll be, tomorrow night's not far, and it's been so boring, a wild party is exactly what I need. After I finish with all my classes for the day I walk down the dark streets alone. I hate this time of the night, the city may be a busy place at anytime, but anything can happen at night, especially with a girl. I held my jacket closed tight and walk as fast as I can, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being followed. I look back and see no one, I start to walk a little faster, almost in a jog and take my earphones out so i'm able to hear what's happening around me, I didn't like what I could hear. Footsteps. I checked, and there was no-one behind me, as I continue to walk the footsteps start again. I quickly turn into a small one way road leading away from my destination, but I wanted to know if i'd still hear the steps, and I did. They stopped when I stopped and started when I did. I heard laughter and turned back to be face to face with Tom, wearing the stupidest smile on his face. I punch his arm and shout "You little shit!", he laughed even more and rubbed his arm. "I could have had a heart attack, do you have any idea how freaked out I was?" "Oh don't get your knickers in a twist little sister, you're fine", he wrapped his arm over my shoulders and turned me back onto the main road, walking with me to my apartment. "What are you even doing here? Aren't you meant to be getting ready to fly out?" I ask and stuff my hands in my pockets, finally starting to relax. "Yeah, but I wanted to check on you first, it's my job to make sure my little sister is happy and safe", he pauses to laugh and continues "I drove down after packing, I'm going to catch the plane in the morning." "Well have fun with that" I say rolling my eyes as I step out of his grasp. "Aww are you still mad?" He pouts, "I just wanted to surprise you" I stop and look at him shaking my head "You're a dick head". I step closer to him and wrap my arms around him. "Say hi to Mum and Dad from me, and that I love and miss them. And get me one of those cute little Koala Bears" "You mean the plush toy right, because i'm not getting you the actual thing" he says into my hair. I giggle and nod. We continue the rest of our walk to my apartment catching up on everything that we've missed in each others lives in the last few weeks and before we know it he's saying good bye. I walk him to the door as he leaves and miss him as soon as he's out of sight. Friday. I don't want to sound like Rebecca Black, but Friday's are amazing. It's part of the weekend for me as I have no classes. I spend the morning catching up on shows, being a lazy couch potato with Gina. By lunch time Selena and Alexandria finish with Uni and come home, we get ready for the party and take the two hour trip to Nathan's house in forest hill. Luckily we had a GPS with us as Selena drove into a completely remote area, past the town. By the time we got there it was getting dark and all that surrounded us were trees. We had no idea where we were going, putting our trust in an outdated machine. Oh lord, what have we gotten ourselves into? There was no way were driving back home until morning. Finally we started to see some lights, following them we got to a large, intricate gate. It automatically opened as the car approached, as we drove in we started to see the amazing, i'm sorry, did i mention house before? This isn't a house, it's a fucking landmark. Yes, Nathan's mansion showed up, glowing in different coloured lights and we could hear the music from inside the car with the windows up. There were people dancing outside, I could only imagine what it would be like inside. I opened the window as we drove up to where cars were parked on the grass since the concrete was already taken up. Looking out i admired the house, i've always had a thing for amazing properties. Every grey stone brick was polished, but jutted out in different lengths and sizes giving it a rugged look, the lights coming out from the ground making it look almost unreal, the balconies had climbers falling off the sides and in beautiful purple and blue shades. I stepped out onto the lush green grass and felt like taking my shoes off to feel it beneath my feet. If only i had a place like this. "Who the hell is this guy? Bill Gates' son?" I ask, knowing that's probably not true since his last name is Sykes. "I don't know, but I see a pool" Alexandria says excitedly beside me, peeking into the fence that looks into the back garden. "Aww" Selena pouts, "I didn't bring my bikini" "Bra and knickers works just fine" Alexandria says and winks walking past all the cars, leading the way to the party. "But i'm not wearing a bra" Selena complained and quickly looked around to make sure no one heard, I giggle and shake my head. As we walk through the door I see a young bald headed man, quite good looking, obviously shaven head, not hairless. He catches my eye and smiles, I blush as he starts to walk towards me. "Who might you be?" He asks and looks me over. "I'm Vanessa" I say and subconsciously bite my lip, I must have done something right as I caught him smirk. "I'm Max, a friend of Nathan's, i'm guessing he invited you?" He raises an eyebrow. "Not directly, he's never met me" "Well that's a plus for me and a minus for him" he says and wraps his arm around my waist, leading me through the hall to the back of the house, I look back before I get away from the girls and see that they have disappeared already, I didn't even realise. - I swear I will follow through with this one till the end. It's my baby, i'm loving it, can't wait to take it to great places. And I hope you enjoy the journey with me 💋. X. Enjoy. Next chapter will not come quick, i have so much work to do, i shouldn't have written this so soon, but i couldn't help it. I also have important exams coming up.
