Nathan Luna Fire 250 RX Chest Lamp Review

I used to live right on the beach on the East Coast, which meant bright early mornings and shorter nights. Now I live at the feet of the Flatirons of the Rockies, which means the sun takes longer to rise and takes less time to fall over the mountains. So if I were going to get any outside exercise done during the winter, it definitely meant doing some of it in the dark.
Initially I was hesitant to try a chest lamp since I hate head lamps. Head lamps are okay when I hike, but I can’t stand them when running. But I was quite pleased with this chest lamp for many reasons.
First, it uses a USB to charge which I love. Although batteries may be better for long camping trips, I’m not using this one for stretches of time where I’d be without an outlet. Second, the light doesn’t budge as I run. I’ve heard of some people having issues with the band, but I didn’t have a problem with it especially over a puffier jacket.
When I first tried the lamp, I thought the charge was broken because it wouldn’t turn on even after a full charge. It turns out I just wasn’t pressing hard enough and holding the power button.
Since it’s tougher to get outside selfies in the dark, here are some pictures of me with the lamp along with some photos from the Nathan website that do a much better job of showing it off:
