Zach and Violet only had one child that was born in the month they were due, and that was Vera! She was due on December 31st, 2019, but arrived a couple weeks early on December 14th, 2019. Zach and Violet had delivered 2 daughters (Alexandria and Varina) by this point, but they’d never had a traditional or planned delivery. But this time the baby held out long enough for them to get hospital bags packed. So when Violet was rushed in for an emergency c-section they already had the bags ready…and the bags contained this:
Violet’s cousin Paige let her borrow one of her son Nathaniel’s water guns for the occasion. She’d told Violet this was a necessity. And after having a c-section and a baby that was more than a few pounds, Violet realized Paige was right. It hurt to move! So she needed this bit of extra help when she didn’t want to disturb the nurses. Plus…Violet enjoyed tormenting Zach immensely.

Hello all! It’s been a while since the last installment, and I’m a day late, but I am determined to finish this post series! Today (technically yesterday’s) installment is for the song Technicolour Beat, the song that Zach and Violet danced to at their legal wedding’s reception on April 12th, 2014.
After their first dance as a married couple, Zach and Violet, along with the help of Gourmand and the Zachbots have a big surprise for the other guests in attendance: the other Wild Kratts villains and Violet’s family! Zach, Violet, Gourmand, and Zach’s mother were the only who knew of the big secret prior to the reveal. The fanfic excerpt can be found below the cut, please note mentions of pregnancy and kissing!
Gourmand comes up between us as planned and throws his arms around us, “I think it’s time to eat the cake I made for these two love birds! Zachy Boy, tell your Zachbots to bring it out!”
Zach bristles at the nickname, “what have I said about you calling me that!?!? Ugh, Zachbots bring the cake out!”
I glance at Zach and Gourmand with a nervous smile, knowing what’s coming next, besides the three of us, Zach’s mother, and the Zachbots no one else in attendance knew our secret.
Zach locks eyes with me and steps away from Gourmand to grab his glass of sparkling grape juice and raises it in a toast, “I’d like to propose a toast to my bride, for dealing with all my antics and still agreeing to marry me.”
I shake my head as everyone laughs, raising their glasses and drinking. Zach raises his glass to me and takes a sip of his drink. His eyes never leave mine except for the brief moment they flicker to my stomach. Zach extends his hand to me and I join him, he hands me my glass, and he wraps his free arm around me, splaying his left hand across my stomach.
Then we both raise our glasses, as planned, Zach’s hand is subtly shaking his drink moves slightly from the vibration as he clears his throat, “Violet and I would also like to propose a toast to all of you, for supporting us and our relationship, and for joining us this evening. All of you had a part in helping to make our marriage possible, and we extend our gratitude to you.”
We watch as everyone drinks, Zach and I taking a sip ourselves, then he takes our glasses, sitting them down again . Zach looks to me, I am being quiet, I know I’m supposed to talk next but I’m nervous and nauseous, I grip the front of his dress shirt my hand fisting into the material.
I swallow down my nerves and say, “and because of our gratitude to you all we have a special announcement that we wanted to share with you before we shared it with anyone else…”
The Zachbots bring the cake out, the top still hidden, the screen behind us is flashing pictures of Zach and I, and a slide pops up on the screen that states, “Close Your Eyes For The Big Surprise!”
My cousin Paige looks at me, “Violet? What’s going on?”
My aunt Amy sneers at the cake, “it better not be that he made you all an endangered animal cake, because I’ll throw it out and give you the one I made.”
Gourmand glares at her, “I’d never bake a cake with endangered animals! Maybe their eggs, but not anything else!”
Zach quickly steers the conversation back around, “argh! Just stop arguing and close your eyes!”
Everyone reluctantly obeys, but Donita mutters, “I bet the miniaturized Wild Kratts are going to be the cake toppers.”
Chuckles can be heard, and Zach and I exclaim, “Donita!”
But we are soon focusing on the task at hand, with all eyes closed the Zachbots sit the cake down and the screen behind us shows the most recent sonogram of our baby, the words “Baby Varmitech Arriving November 4th, 2014,” showing on the screen, and the top of the cake reads “Baby V 2014.”
Zach gazes at me, his eyes watery, he gives me a quick kiss before he clears his throat, our left hands entwine over my womb, “open your eyes,” he announces.
At first everyone is quiet, they stare at the screen and the cake, and Dabio breaks the silence innocently, “is that a baby?”
The formerly quiet atmosphere erupts in various states of shock and disbelief, questions and statements pouring forth from all our guests’ mouths.
Amy: “You are pregnant, when did this happen? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Valerie: “I’m going to be a grandma! I can finally tell everyone I’m going to be a grandma!”
Paige: “You’re having a baby, a baby!!! I’m getting a niece or nephew!!!”
Nathaniel: “Now you can tell me where babies come from, Violet! You know and mommy won’t tell me!”
Amy, Paige, and Todd: “Absolutely not!”
Donita: “That’s why you’ve been so sick and the outfits I’ve been making for you have not been fitting right!”
Paige: “No wonder Zach’s been keeping you cooped up at home, he doesn’t want anything happening to you or your baby!”
Todd: “Now we know why they got married so quickly.”
Paige: “Todd, shut up!”
Paisley: “Babies are messy, but at least you have your Zachbots to help clean up their messes.”
Rex: “I wonder if it’s going to be a boy or girl!”
Dabio: “I bet it’s a little girl, hey Donita! You can make her pretty dresses!”
Donita: “Ahhh! Yes!!! I could make a brand new line! Baby couture! And your baby can be the model!”
Their voices are blurring around us, Zach and I are both overwhelmed and overstimulated, but in that moment we ignore it all, Zach wraps both of his arms around my waist, hugging me tightly, whispering words of love into my ear before kissing my lips tenderly and dropping to his knees to kiss my belly.
His hands grip my waist, he looks up to me and murmurs, “this is the best day of my life.”
Todd is Koki’s first cousin! Paige is my OC / s/i Violet’s first cousin and my OC Amy’s daughter!

Paige, Todd, Violet, and their extended families were life long friends prior to Todd and Paige’s marriage. Todd had a crush on Paige for most of his life, but she always rejected his advances because for many years she only viewed him as a friend, and because of the trauma she went through after her father abandoned her: she didn’t want a serious relationship or someone who really loved her because she felt like they would just abandon her too.
This led Paige down a very dark path where she flirted, dated, and hooked up with anyone she fell for (fun fact: she is Pansexual), and where she partied and experimented with drugs and alcohol. Todd helped her to realize the danger of the path she was on and professed his undying love for her, which led to them getting together, dating, getting engaged, and marrying shortly thereafter.
They are parents to one son, Nathaniel Alden King, born shortly after their marriage. I feel like they have twin daughters or fraternal twins (a boy and a girl) at some point, maybe around the time Zach and Violet have Vera or their twin boys, Victor and Vallen.

Newest boy. His name is Nathaniel King and he is Phantom Armor. He has no physical body and is considered undead. He also cannot speak.
He served an enchantress who lost her mind and killed him, then bound his soul to his armor so he could serve her forever. Then he found an amulet that was once his and regained enough of his humanity to free himself from her control. He killed her and set out to hone his skills for his own benefit instead of someone else’s.

Nathaniel's relationship with his parents is slightly complicated. He was spoiled as a kid and has not stopped. However, his parents are away most of the time on business, so all the stuff they bought was kind of a way to buy his affection. He's come to tolerate them. He gets along with her mother a little better seeing as she was the one who stayed home the most when he was younger. Nate and his father have a dysfunctional relationship since they're both so alike and neither of them can stand that.
