NATM Text Posts; Part 2/???
how well I think the NATM characters would be at a 'click on the US states on a map' quiz
(no natm3 characters bc this tier list maker doesn't have natm3 characters fuuuuck-)
reasonings below:
This idea came from one of @transmasc-larrydaley 's posts.
Reginald need money.
That would be the most likely way for him to be able to afford more men's clothing.
Reginald had grew up with an old brother who had given him a couple of outfits but, he didn't have many--and that's why he needed a job.
His parents wouldn't loan him money--they'd just say, "You're twenty--you can get a job."
He had heard that the Museum of Natural History had been offering an open position, and now he was just waiting to hear if he got the position.
A man about twenty-five walked over to Reginald stood. "You're Reginald, correct?"
Reginald nodded. "Yes. That'd be correct."
The young man smiled. "Nice to have you aboard. I'm Gus." He stuck his hand out for Reginald to shake.
Reginald politely shook the over man's hand.
Gus smiled even more so. "How about a tour?"
**
"So, this night guard position,"
Reginald began. "Is it hard?"
Gus chuckled. "Not terribly hard. You just don't let anyone in."
"Alright," Reginald said. "And who's that?" He asked when he saw a man nearing his thirties.
Gus told him, "Oh, that's Cecil--he's a fun-sponge, and trust me, you do not want to get on his bad side."
"Noted," Reginald huffed.
**
Cecil had went through and gave Reginald the 'rules' of being a night guard.
Gus went through and mocked him the whole time.
Cecil glanced at him, saying, "Shut up you, buffoon."
"Watch your mouth," Gus snapped at Cecil. "I once went nine rounds with John L. Sullivan."
And Reginald just chuckled.
**
Reginald had now been working at the museum for nearly a year now.
He had worked up the funds for the clothing--and even enough for his own home.
"Hey, Regi!" Gus called running over to the other man.
"Yeah?"
"Cecil says we got a new shipment," Gus began.
"Yeah, what's that?" Reginald question.
"Something called the tablet of Ahkmenrah--Cecil says he helped find it as a kid, but I bet he's lying," Gus told the other man.
Reginald chuckled.
**
Reginald was suprised to see that the tablet seemed to bring everything to life.
He seemed to be in a daze.
The words, "Oh shit!", broke him from his thoughts.
"Gus?" Reginald nervously called as he followed from where the voice came from.
He found Gus sitting on the ground. "What's wrong?"
Gus didn't answer Reginald's question. "Those damn whales." He looked up to Reginald. "Tell Cecil to add something new to the list." Gus stood.
**
Gus and Reginald found themselves hanging out together after their work hours.
They would hang out at a bar.
A man at the bar had tried to start a fight with Reginald, but Gus stepped in between them saying, "Do you got a problem, lunch box?"
"You friend was givin' me a dirty look," the man said.
"He didn't do a damn thing to you," Gus said.
"You wanna go?" The man angrily said.
"Sure," Gus smiled, punching the man in the face.
Shortly after, Gus was kicked out of the bar and Reginald politely left.
"Thanks for defending me," Reginald said.
Gus smiled.
There was a silence.
Gus cupped both sides of Reginald's face, leaned in and kissed him.
**
Over the years, Gus and Reginald's relationship grew stronger.
And after they left the museum, they planned to spent their whole retirement together
Reginald, how's your relationship with Gus going?
Reginald: We're doing just fine. We actually got married in Spring of last year.
Tell more about the previous night guard(s?) in the know!
Reginald: Well, Cecil was and still is a fun sponge.
Cecil: Hey!
Reginald: And Gus and I are still a couple, so not much has changed for us over the years except for our age.
Were there other guards who knew about the tablet and magic before cecil, gus, and reginald?
Reginald: Yes. There was this girl, but it's been so long that I can't quite recall her name.
