After an almost 2 month break, I think I finally finished it (in a couple minutes work). Added more green over the background so it isn't the same color as the Fisher cat and darkened the tree behind its head. Excited to debut the first piece in a series I'm starting - 'Animals of Avatar: the Last Airbender, A Natural Science Perspective'! I'm hoping to create pieces focused on each unique animal hybrid, examining their anatomy and morphology. I'll be exploring where the animals we know intersect and create something new. I've started off with the Ostrich Horse - an animal seen frequently both in the wild and domesticated in the Avatar world. Found in the Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation, the Ostrich Horse is bipedal and flightless. These strong yet docile creatures are often used for transportation, hauling of goods, and as mounted calvary for the Earth Nation military.
