Regarding this post about offerings for deities and spirits
So thanks for the clarification! I think it would be a good idea too.
I don’t think you need to bring one every time you go to do some deity work. Think of it more like a rental fee. Pay it occasionally, or when the mood strikes. I would be more inclined to do t semi regularly if you’re going there a fair amount. Like, if you’re going and leaving offerings 4 times a month, might be good to leave just a bit extra and to the side for the forest and the inhabitants.
And who knows, if you’re working in the forest you may feel inclined to build a relationship with it. Maybe there’s a specific tree that just...calls to you. You can adjust the offerings to something specific as more or less the patron/matron spirit of the forest who kind of speaks on your behalf. Act as your representative to the forest as a whole if that makes sense.
My suggestion is be open to the idea that you may want to leave offerings more often, but start with a one time payment.
If it becomes regular, it would be polite to share the wealth so to say. And it might be worth it to set up an altar somewhere once you scope out the area. A hollow tree stump, a small pile of stones etc, something small and of the same materials the forest are from. Hell even make a small house/temple out of fallen sticks if you’d like! That in itself is an offering to the gods and spirits you work with.
