PETAL PAINT COLLAGE We used the flower stems and coloured water from our rainbow flower experiment to do some painting. I loved it but QR was done within 5 minutes 😅 The addition of glitter glue only bought me an extra 3 minutes or so. Oh well, I'm happy he tried at least. . . 🌳TREE SMALL WORLD 🦉🐿🦊 Inspired by Britta Teckentrup's "Seasons come, seasons go TREE", I made this tree out of cardboard, toilet rolls, and an egg carton (nest). We've read the book numerous times before this but QR was only interested in spotting certain creatures that appear throughout the seasons. *SPOILER ALERT* See if you can spot a butterfly life cycle, a snail's journey, 2 love birds' love story, and a hardworking spider! . . With this small world activity, QR's eyes lit up as the tree came alive when he stuck on all the different leaves and flowers. He even noticed that I missed out white flowers, a spider web, and apples, and patiently waited as I made them on the spot. He also enjoyed plucking the apples as winter approached, and pretended to eat them. The squirrel clips were a tad challenging but he didn't give up and managed to clip two on! Now I feel like making more trees to have a forest small world! 😅 . INVITATION TO CREATE your very own special pebble after reading "On my beach there are many pebbles" by Leo Lionni. Turns out giving a 3 year old paint markers is a beautiful mistake. CHIRRI AND CHIRRA This is a gorgeous book with the prettiest illustrations. The tiny details are clues to what's about to come in the following pages it's like a Easter egg hunt! We used a magnifying glass to check out the tiny details & talked about living in harmony with the plants and animals like Chirri and Chirra.
