🥚WHO COMES FROM EGGS? 🐣🐢🦂🐧🐝 We put our mummy rubber duck on the nest for a few days to "incubate" the eggs, just so that I have time to gather enough small creatures that can fit in the eggs. QR checked on them multiple times a day. 🐣A NEST IS NOISY 🐣 We read A nest is noisy by Dianna Hutts Astons and inspired by the enchanting nests I've been seeing on @honeybeeplayschool and @mothernatured , we made these nests of out takeaway cup holders, brown play dough, leaves, twigs and feathers (manageable for a 3 year old!) . The feathers were in a container with other bright and shiny loose parts like sequins and sparkly pom poms so QR and I had a discussion on what would be a good choice for our egg babies' home. PAPILLION the very fluffy kitty: So fluffy he floats! Of course the #crazycatlady me has to join in @kidartlit 's CAT theme this week. They even have a PDF guide with TONS of kitty cat projects to try😻 I am going to bookmark all the splendid cat book recommendations from #kidartlit . . We made a balloon papillion (sorry about the oversized ears 😳) and made him float around the house by hitting him as high up in the air as possible! STICK AND STONE 📕ACTIVITY Thanks to @kidartlit Rocks and Stones theme this week, I found this book on my second trip to the library for books on feelings & friends. A simple book but such a moving story on friendships that rock, sticking up for friends & learning how to be a friend. Full of opportunities to discuss feelings too as the story unfolds. I made the story characters (happy and sad on each side) for QR to re-enact the story, but older kids can probably make them on their own.
