{{ In #1943 #mymother turned 20 & joined the #navywaves . }} #somepinkflowers 🌸 With other female recruits my mom received her training at Hunter College, in the Bronx, New York City. 🌸 First time away from home & in a big city this small town girl had many adventures. #franksinatra sang #thesongisyou for her & her Navy classmates in November of that year at the Walton High School auditorium. 🌸 Several times my mom went to the New York Public Library to use the dictionary. 🌸 She bought/or was given a very small bottle of #chanelno5 ... It might have been a sample.
