When I was young, my political beliefs, though sincerely held, were based on a naïveté of a world I hadn't experienced as an adult.

What a pleasant surprise, then, to find that once I had experienced the world, my political views  gained nuance and stood up to that real-world experience, and so I have not waivered from the fundamental belief that human beings deserve to be treated with dignity no matter what is popular to believe about a given subgroup of them at a given time.

Except for fascists, who always deserve and forever shall deserve to be punched and ostracized, regardless of their identification with any other subgroups.
