I’m watching Elementary (yes yes I know copaganda I know, honestly I just love the fantasy of effective law enforcement) and I just love the little tortoise they’ve kinda adopted.
Clyde makes me so happy! He’s just so cute!

I just got reminded that a movie exists that my nesting partner introduced me to that I think is fabulous.
The movie is called To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar and I just love it so much. Definitely gotta watch it again soon.
If you want to see a couple of the big name action stars of the 90s in drag and slaying it, this is a great movie.
Introducing my queer platonic soulmate partner person to Stargate with the original movie and remembering Kurt Russell does not look good with the hair cut he got for this movie.
Like I’m sorry he’s a very pretty person normally, this hair cut just did not work for him. I also love that my soulmates are also best friends and we can watch this together in honor of my grandma who recently passed and introduced me to the Stargate world.
So I recently watched Alyssa Grenfell’s YouTube video about Heavenly Mother in the LDS Church. And well yes the ex Mormon subreddit is a thing, it’s mostly male centered so bringing this up might not get much conversation. And what I want is a conversation, ideas, theories. Because watching that I couldn’t help thinking how if they actually talked about her the church could totally use her to keep women in the church by incorporating her into the Activity Days, Young Women’s, and Relief Society programs that the church has already for the girls and women in the church. Imagine if they actually incorporated her, if they wove her more into the religion, what that could’ve looked like. Anyway I just like thinking about things like this when my brain decides to function correctly.
Video linked so y’all can watch as well
Listening to the audiobook for The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, first time listening to the book, plan to also read later when that’s available to me.
Anyways Coriolanus Snow is a whiny entitled asshole and the movie did not do anywhere close to any justice to how selfish this guy is. They really need to find a way to express the thoughts that are expressed in the books in movie format but that’s definitely a lot harder with movies.
Also if you’re ex mormon and have seen the theory that the capitol is Utah and Snow is a descendant of the early prophet of the Mormon church, idk for me it makes it so much funnier some of the things he thinks about more religious types of beliefs.
Sometimes the other people in my head are just really mean for no reason
But good news I can cry while sober now
Hey so book recommendations, love paranormal, steampunk, fantasy genres, love stories about finding one’s people their found family. Big on adventures being taken but found family being a focus, enjoy romantic subplots and do enjoy a good romance if I’m in the mood for a romance. Love love series definitely willing to dedicate time to this.
Bonus points: non-binary representation, mobility aid user representation, bi representation
I’m hoping and praying if I can get back into reading it’ll slowly help my brain get out of the doomscrolling slump and work again
I know using my mobility aids helps me
I know they’re okay to use
I know I shouldn’t feel embarrassed about using them
But I can walk (how long is variable based on internal and external factors)
And I’m young
So I feel embarrassed
Especially with my rollator or when I use to riding carts at the store
The cane not so much but sometimes it’s not enough
